Genesis 1:1, 4, 14-15 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.
Genesis 2:9-17 Out of the ground the Lord God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Now a river flowed out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it divided and became four rivers. The name of the first is Pishon; it flows around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. The gold of that land is good; the bdellium and the onyx stone are there. The name of the second river is Gihon; it flows around the whole land of Cush. The name of the third river is Tigris; it flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates. Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it. The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”
Genesis 3:13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
Ruth 1:15-16 Then she said, “Behold, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and her gods; return after your sister-in-law.” But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.
Psalm 14:1-3 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good. The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of menTo see if there are any who understand,Who seek after God. They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.
Psalm 34:11-19 Come, you children, listen to me;I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the man who desires lifeAnd loves length of days that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evilAnd your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good;Seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteousAnd His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against evildoers,To cut off the memory of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and the Lord hearsAnd delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenheartedAnd saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous,But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
Psalm 118:24, 28-29 This is the day which the Lord has made;Let us rejoice and be glad in it. You are my God, and I give thanks to You;You are my God, I extol You. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
