“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Vs. 2-4 is Jesus teaching the disciples how to pray, which includes “Give us each day our daily bread.” We live in a world that has jaded so many of us, and wrongly shaped how we see God our Father. Praise God that through Jesus Christ, we may know a loving Father in Heaven who is for us and ready to meet our needs daily! Run to God, who is able to provide, and tell Him what you need. Through His miraculous gift of the Holy Spirit, He made His home with us and works His power in our lives as we have need. He is not a stranger to your needs, and has prepared a way for you.
