Below this verse from Exodus and the commentary that came from my phone app, I have added another verse that I was taken to this morning by a different source. It isn’t an accident or a coincidence but I believe the Lord God wants us to hear or read and understand both. So, if you are reading this and feel like He isn’t listening then dwell on both scriptures and seek the Lord. Often we are the ones that are not listening. Be encouraged because God never changes and is the same yesterday, today and forever.
During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.
God hears us when we cry out to Him, and He does not forget His covenant. In Christ, we have a new covenant in His blood, but the God behind the covenant is still the same. God was no stranger to Israel’s situation, and in His timing He acted and delivered them from Egyptian oppression. He knows the name of each starving person, every missing child, every lost soul. He is not a stranger to your situation, and hears when you cry out to Him. God is with You and will act – trust on Him completely.

Here is the 2nd verse.
2 Chronicles 12:6-7
Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The Lord is righteous. And when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
