The Picture that Comes to Mind

May God have mercy on us all.

We all see and hear of the terrorism spreading across the world at a rapid rate.  I  think it is natural to get angry and to spout off our opinions of what we must do to protect our nation’s and our family and friends and even ourselves against this sad ideology.  We read the plans behind the ideology.  Plans to dominate our entire world and to force their religion on any who think differently than they do. Plans are already in action even here in America.  Our colleges, our high schools,  our government and even our workplaces. Men, women and even their once innocent children are trained to hate and to kill and to take down anyone who believes differently.  Most want Sharia Law.  If they came to America and really wanted to live in freedom then Sharia Law wouldn’t be what they want to see.  They would go to a country in which that lifestyle is dominant and they could live very happily.  They have a large choice of places to do that.  So we must ask why do they insist on living in a nation with a completely different set of laws?  Why is our government trying to change our way of life ?  Why is our government not call it what it is?  Why do we see people speaking at our National Day of Prayer, against Christians?   Putting the Christian faith down?   It is a matter of time brothers and sisters.  So, we must make up our minds.  Be ready.  This isn’t going to change.  This isn’t going to get better.  I  believe this will continue at a rapid pace.  As the scripture in Leviticus states, we need to prepare to love them,  yes, even when they want to kill us.   Be ready to share the gospel with each one.  I cannot help but to think of the book of Acts  when Stephen was sharing the gospel and they all began to stone him.  As he was being stoned he cried out for our Father in Heaven to forgive them.  He then died.  You may ask, why not fight them back?  My thoughts first of all are we will only continue to fight and kill but we will not win this war here on earth.  When it truly hits in America we will be far out numbered.  Especially when you can clearly see our government is already infiltrated by plan and will therefore not be here to help the Christians.   We all know we only live here a short time.  The Lord wishes none to perish but to have eternal life.   When we are faced with this terrible time, I would say to each one (myself included), to share as many words of the gospel and ask the Lord to forgive them and have mercy on them just as He has given each of us.  You may die regardless, but one heart just might be penetrated and sofened and might then cry out to the one true God.  The one who has the power to give life and take it and power to raise one from the dead.  Has the power to change the heart of the corrupt.  That might begin with love that we can show to one who only wants death to us.  We are only able to love because God first loved us.

Leviticus 19:33-34
“‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them.  The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

Commentary
I can’t help but think of “love your neighbor as yourself” when I read this verse. Here nestled in the Old Testament law is a verse that commands love for all who “reside in our land”. Because Israel was once slaves and strangers in the land of Egypt, the command is to treat foreigners in their land better – much better than they were treated by the Egyptians. God can and will do amazing things through loving relationship and community. The command to Israel, and to us today, is of love – because God Himself is love.
