Grace and Peace

1 Corinthians 1:1-3
Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,  To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:  Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Commentary
John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Two things the world does not give are “grace” and “peace”. Paul consistently greets other believers extending these things to them. Paul has an experience of grace, as well as an understanding of its importance. Greeting people in this way builds a better foundation for Paul to encourage and correct the early church. Greet one another with grace and peace in your speech and attitude.
