The Great Awakening, Pastor JD Farag.

We Cry Out!

Psalm 17:6-8
I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings

Lord God, Your Word is full of rich life-giving truths like this that we can offer to You in prayer; not only for ourselves, but for others as well. We praise You Lord, that You are a God who answers when we call! You hear our cries, and do not turn away from our needs. We come to You Lord as we are, because we cannot come as anything else before You: the one who knows us perfectly and sees all things. Create in us hearts that authentically desire to honor You with our lives, and to share the magnitude of Your greatness with those we meet. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

God Cannot Do That

Many of you know that my title is only  referring to the STUPID article that was put out a week ago about how praying to God wouldn’t stop this.  Oh ye of little faith is what I say to that.    Hebrews11:6 says…
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.

Luke 1:39-45
At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea,  where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth.  When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.  In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!  But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.  Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

Mary goes to greet Elizabeth right after the angel Gabriel reveals to her that she will give birth to God’s Son as a virgin. Yet another miraculous prophecy is fulfilled immediately when Mary greets Elizabeth; and that is that Elizabeth and John (Elizabeth’s unborn son) are filled with the Holy Spirit. When this happens, Elizabeth immediately begins to speak truth that affirms everything told to Mary. Each woman blesses and supports the other in a time where both need exactly that. Our God is truly faithful and amazing! Believe God for the impossible!

Scripture for Encouragement

Psalm 119:147-149
I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word. My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promises. Hear my voice in accordance with your love; preserve my life, Lord, according to your laws.
Lord, we are so grateful to have a loving God who we can approach! Thank You for receiving our prayers and for reconciling our relationship with you through Jesus Christ. Our only hope rests in You Jesus, and we praise Your holy and worthy name! Holy Spirit, engage us and bring to our minds the promises of God that we may be comforted in hard times and lifted up…always remembering our Father in Heaven who is for us! In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Feeling Pushed Around? There is a Prescription For That!

I don’t know about you but there are many days I just want to yell, “STOP THIS RIDE CALLED THE WORLD! I WANT TO GET OFF NOW!”

I suppose that is not an option because I am still here. I have learned that when we allow our Lord to take over and mean it with a sincere heart, then we are going to notice it. We may notice some uncomfortable times but in the end God will shape us into just what he wants. We are the clay…..

2 Corinthians 4:7-10

7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all–surpassing power is from God and not from us.

8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed;
perplexed, but not in despair;

9 persecuted, but not abandoned;
struck down, but not destroyed.

10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

I would not change one thing The Lord has allowed into my life because without all the squeezing I would be pretty plain and maybe less used. I would rather be molded and shaped and created for a useful purpose everyday. Maybe nothing more than these posts. Hopefully someone some where needed to hear just one of them! Thank you Lord for loving all of us! Let us not forget that when we are in the valley we will climb back up on top.

Are you defeated?

Judges 7:3-7 Now announce to the army, ‘Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.’” So twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained.  But the Lord said to Gideon, “There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will thin them out for you there. If I say, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go; but if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”  So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the Lord told him, “Separate those who lap the water with their tongues as a dog laps from those who kneel down to drink.”  Three hundred of them drank from cupped hands, lapping like dogs. All the rest got down on their knees to drink.  The Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.” The Lord can and will do much with little. Here we see God, systematically and deliberately, thin out the ranks that are with Gideon. Out of 32,000 men, the Lord sends 31,700 home. Keep in mind that these are battle preparations, and God is thinning Israel’s ranks. Reducing the number is about placing the glory of the Lord on display. This is about bringing Gideon through a fiery trial of faith that will produce fruit always in his life. Israel is about to see, again, that their God is faithful and awesome…something they had forgotten as a nation. Verse/Commentary courtesy of ‘Verse-A-Day’ android app.
