What Can It Look Like When The Lord God Has To Humble You?

I pray with the help and guidance of the Lord God that I walk humbly before my God.  He requires us to be humble.

What does it mean to be humble?  Simple Webster definition is:  Not to think of oneself as being better than anyone else.  Not to have an attitude of being better or more deserving of anything.

In Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar found out the hard way.  He was king, he had a dream and Daniel explained that dream to him.  We read that he soon forgot about what Daniel warned him about and was found boasting about how he made all of this ….I  this, I that!  He thought pretty well of himself and we read that IMMEDIATELY there was a voice from Heaven.   What happened?   He was humbled!   This is only Daniel verses 4:34-35 so you get the full picture go and read all of chapter 4 if you haven’t already.

I think that the Lord God made His point to this King of Babylon. After, the king sang praises to the One True King of Kings!

Daniel 4:34-35

Do You Think Choices Matter?

My opinion is…..
What are you choosing?  A gift for a wedding?  Baby shower?  What Dr to use?  Where to work?  What foods to eat?  Some of these might be important and some not so much.

The one below holds eternal life and death.  I would say it is pretty important.

Revelation 14:11-12
And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.
Commentary
We are called to a courageous faith in Christ Jesus. There is a clear warning, and it articulates that there are 2 sides to the war for our souls – there’s the side of those who worship the beast and his image, and the side who keep the commandments of God by faith in Jesus. The NLT says that we must, “endure persecution patiently”. Let this truth be a reminder that there is urgency to our bearing the gospel message. The world and everything in it is on the clock! Share the good news and seek always to remain in the love of Christ Jesus our Lord.
