Shhh… Did You Hear?

Even so come…Lord Jesus come!

Looking Above

Colossians 3:1-4

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Who Are You?

Something to ponder on.

  • First,in verse 1 we are to give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good.  (Ask yourself,  who do you say He is?  Try to begin to write down all of the mercies   or perhaps only some of the mercies He has extended to you. Then, again after you have done that, ask again: who do you say that He is?)
  • Next we read ‘Let the REDEEMED of the Lord say so’. Now ask yourself this question. Who do you say the redeemed are?  Why do you believe what you have just written down about who the redeemed are?
  • Lastly,  are you one of the redeemed?

Psalms 107:1-2

 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good:

For his mercy endureth for ever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,

Whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

Urgent Prayer Request by Amir

“Amir: A Call For An Urgent Prayer!

By Behold Israel Blog, Jan 15, 2017

We are about to enter into a very crucial week in world’s history! On Sunday leaders from more than 70 countries will meet in Paris to basically declare that Jerusalem’s old city doesn’t belong to Israel.

Then on Tuesday that declaration will be pushed as a resolution at the UN Security Council and the way the American ambassador to the UN will vote is still unclear. All of that before the Friday inauguration of a new president in America who publicly opposed all these actions but can’t do a thing to stop them.

Zechariah 12 and Psalm 2 are coming to my mind. And of course all is much clearer in light of Joel 3.

Please pray! Please Share!

“Therefore thus says YHVH God, ‘Surely in the fire of My jealousy I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who appropriated My land for themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and with scorn of soul’” (Ezekiel 36:5)

Prayer and Fasting

Nehemiah 1:4-7
And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,  And said, I beseech thee, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:  Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.  We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.

Commentary

Nehemiah has heard of the ruin of Jerusalem since being exiled, and that information has a very real impact on all levels for him. He responds to this by crying, mourning, fasting, and praying before the Lord. Through this process, Nehemiah confesses the sins of Israel on both a corporate level and a personal one. Confession of sins is vital for an authentic relationship with God. When we recognize that we have sinned, we must realize that the right thing to do is confess that wrongdoing before the Lord and ask/receive forgiveness. Nehemiah does this through prayer and fasting and the Lord grants him favor to be able to rebuild Jerusalem.

Sifting Wheat

I wonder how many of us -brothers and sisters – ,how many think we are strong enough?  How many of us think we would NEVER deny Jesus Christ?  Peter thought the same thing. We must stay prayed up.  None of us is strong enough left on our own.

Luke 22:31-34
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:  But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.  And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.  And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

2017-Those Who Have Ears to Hear and Eyes to See…

Isaiah 42:5-9

Thus saith God the Lord,

He that created the heavens, and stretched them out;

He that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it;

He that giveth breath unto the people upon it,

And spirit to them that walk therein:

I the Lord have called thee in righteousness,

And will hold thine hand, and will keep thee,

And give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

To open the blind eyes,

To bring out the prisoners from the prison,

And them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

I am the Lord: that is my name:

And my glory will I not give to another,

Neither my praise to graven images.

Behold, the former things are come to pass,

And new things do I declare:

Before they spring forth I tell you of them.

Not Fitting In?

1 Peter 2:9-10
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;  Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

COMMENTARY

Hearing that you are chosen, and “God’s special possession” (NIV), should bring courage and peace to your heart. As we consider the impossible move from no mercy, to mercy; the gospel is designed to ignite a response of praise and worship to God, glorifying Him among all people. Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT) says, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Have We Any Knowledge?

IMG_0624

(Hos 4:1) Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

(Hos 4:2) By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

(Hos 4:3) Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

(Hos 4:6) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

I read these verses and I cannot help but see America.  Verse 1 says not truth, no mercy and no knowledge of God in the land.  Verse 2 says By swearing and lying and killing and stealing and committing adultery….hmmm.  Yes, that verse fits this country too.

Verse 1 tells us that there is no knowledge of God in the land.  Why?

Verse 6 tells us that people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.  Why?

Scripture tells us that we have no knowledge because we HAVE REJECTED KNOWLEDGE.  Because of rejecting knowledge from the one who gives it He will also reject us.

In verse 6 the word destroyed in Hebrew means CUT OFF.  So, my people are cut off for lack of knowledge.

How do we change this?  How do we turn things around?  Can we?

1Sa 2:3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

Psa 14:4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.  (I find it interesting that this is said again word for word in Psalm 53:4.)

Let’s pray.   Dear Father in Heaven, as we read Your words written for us in your Holy Bible help us Lord.  Convict each of us however you need to.  Help us to look at our own lives.  Help us to see where we each are lacking.  Help us Lord God to cry out to You, to seek You, to search for You.  Help us Lord God to have the ears to hear You.  Circumcise our hearts.  Circumcise our ears.  Cut away all our wickedness.  Teach us what the meaning of “fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge”.  Help us to read the scriptures and give us understanding as only You can.  Open our eyes and ears and our hearts.  Deuteronomy 30:6 says…And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of they seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all they soul, that thou mayest live.  Help us Lord God Almighty to learn from You and Your perfect  ways.  In these days we see darkness growing and we desire to be a light in the darkness as You have called us to be.  Fill us with Your Holy Spirit.  Keep our lamps full of oil.  May we be ready on that blessed day when we hear the trumpets blow.  Thank you for hearing our cries and our prayers.  Thank you for not turning your back on us and cutting us off as we know we all deserve.  Thank you for your mercy and your grace.  Help each of us to repent where your holy spirit reveals to each one of us.  Help us then to turn from our wickedness and not go back.  In your strength and your strength alone, help us to stand and not be shaken.  It is in the name of Jesus Christ we ask all these things.  We give thanks unto You!  We praise You!

Psa 119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.

Pro 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Pro 2:1  My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

Pro 2:2  So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

Pro 2:3  Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

Pro 2:4  If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

Pro 2:5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

Pro 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
