Could this passage be referring to the Messianic Jews? Below is an updated radio interview with those who know more about it than I ever could. (Not about us folks.) Listen to the clip and then read these scriptures.
But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. And it shall turn to you for a testimony. Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.

First we must look at a couple of things about ourselves and about this world around us. We need to take a honest look within ourselves to see if something is there that hinders our hearts from being poured out before our Lord God in prayer. Not JUST prayer, but fervent prayer.
FERVENT / Fervently – to be hot, to boil, to glow; to swell with heat. FERVENCY- Heat of mind; ardor (heat or warmth such as from the sun rays);eagerness. ..passionate. FERVENTLY -earnestly; eagerly; vehemently- (means with great force and violence; urgently; forcibly; with great zeal)
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
It is happening. I MUST BEGIN TO PRAY LIKE I DID IN THE PAST. I must pray like that for my husband, for my sons, for my husband’s grown children, and for our 5 grandchildren. I might not be able to do anything else for them but WHY AM I NOT FERVENTLY PRAYING FOR THEM AS I DID WHEN I HURT SO MUCH? Has my love for the lost in my family began to grow cold? Perhaps it has. I have began to feel so alone in my faith that it feels like the world around me is only unbelief. I must begin praying in a bigger way! I must pour out my heart before the Lord again in a way and a level that I haven’t in awhile.
Psalm 50:15 says,
And call upon me in the day of trouble:
I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
I love this verse. Our Father desires His children to call out to Him when we are in trouble or distressed. He desires to help His children. He wants the best for us. He will deliver us AND THEN. …it will GLORIFY HIM! How awesome is that? How often do we think about us crying out to our Father in Heaven doing anything other than helping us in our distress? We try doing it on our own which isn’t what God tells His people. We are also missing opportunity to glorify the Father. We are supposed to glorify Him in all we do and yet we often miss a basic daily opportunity to do just that.
If anyone is still reading this then I pray with FERVENCY that God will bless you and keep you and one day I look forward to meeting all my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus!
How many of us in 2017 really know what the meaning of the word fervent means? So often we think we know what something means but do we really ‘get’ the underlying truth to a word? Look up words, even those you claim to understand. May I also suggest that you purchase an 1828 American Dictionary of the English Language by Noah Webster. This has been one of my best investments other than that of the King James Bible. Any other dictionary along with new versions sometimes change the meaning of words with the times. I personally desire to know what the word originally meant. What did it mean when it was translated into our language?
The scriptures are clear. How easily we can kid or should I say lie to ourselves not to mention others. Scripture tells us that our very own hearts deceive us. We cannot be trusted even to ourselves. Put your trust in the only one that has the power to save you. Jesus Christ is His name! So EASY for us (I have been guilty too), for us to throw stones at Kathy. I mean she makes it so easy. She needs Jesus Christ, she needs to repent and we do too. We should all be praying for ourselves AND for Kathy Griffin. Instead of stoning her. Yes, she needs to be called out for her actions and that’s been done. Now let’s all pray for her and pray she comes out of the darkness and sees herself for what she has become. Pray she stops making excuses to others but is first honest with herself. Right now she is being deceived by her very own heart as most of us from one degree or another. It is a heart issue.
Proverbs 16:9 (flesh leads us our way but the Spirit of God leads us to life)
A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
Jeremiah 17:9-10 (we are easily deceived unless we stay in the word of God to be able to know and discern the truth even in our hearts)
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked :who can know it?
I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Deuteronomy 30:6 (tells us the why)
And the LORD thy God will circumcise (means to cut away all the wickedness ) thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
Matthew 22:37-38 (backs up old testament law)
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38- This is the first and great commandment.
For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Today we see again that God is writing the “requirements of the law” on the hearts of people. This is the Holy Spirit of God transcribing on our hearts how we ought to live – by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. A day is coming when God will judge people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, and there will be absolutely no excuses on that day. We will not be able to say, “but Jesus, I…” and talk our way out of what is already plainly known. None of us are without conscience, which according to this verse bears witness impacting judgment. The Holy Spirit is not going to lead us down a path that lives a life “secret” from God (as if that is even possible). The power of God is at work showing your life for what it is, and we have choices of how we will respond to those revelations. Will we choose the light, or will we choose the shadows?

And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee. And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.
When he was called to be a prophet, Ezekiel has a vision of the “likeness of the glory of the Lord”. This completely drains his strength and he falls facedown. Then the Lord speaks to Him this verse, and as it is being spoken, Ezekiel is provided the strength to stand and hear the word of the Lord. In Christ we are granted the Holy Spirit, and rest assured that there is real power and strength that comes with His residence within us. He is able to strengthen, to counsel, to teach and to convict us. With the Spirit of God living in us, we are able to be ambassadors for Christ, messengers of the gospel, bearers of the living water that is found only in Jesus.

Even so come…Lord Jesus come!
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Something to ponder on.
- First,in verse 1 we are to give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good. (Ask yourself, who do you say He is? Try to begin to write down all of the mercies or perhaps only some of the mercies He has extended to you. Then, again after you have done that, ask again: who do you say that He is?)
- Next we read ‘Let the REDEEMED of the Lord say so’. Now ask yourself this question. Who do you say the redeemed are? Why do you believe what you have just written down about who the redeemed are?
- Lastly, are you one of the redeemed?
O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good:
For his mercy endureth for ever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
“Amir: A Call For An Urgent Prayer!
By Behold Israel Blog, Jan 15, 2017
We are about to enter into a very crucial week in world’s history! On Sunday leaders from more than 70 countries will meet in Paris to basically declare that Jerusalem’s old city doesn’t belong to Israel.
Then on Tuesday that declaration will be pushed as a resolution at the UN Security Council and the way the American ambassador to the UN will vote is still unclear. All of that before the Friday inauguration of a new president in America who publicly opposed all these actions but can’t do a thing to stop them.
Zechariah 12 and Psalm 2 are coming to my mind. And of course all is much clearer in light of Joel 3.
