A New Name for the Glory of God

Philippians 1:12-16

But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

Commentary

Paul is writing to the church at Philippi from prison, explaining how his imprisonment has led to the advance of the gospel. Because of the integrity of Paul everyone knows that he’s in chains for Christ. Paul is not ashamed of the gospel, and has embraced the new creation that he is in Christ. Paul was not always for God – so much so that he got a name change. God uses all things for His good. Paul goes to prison, people get saved. What seems like persecution and the enemy winning proves to be God’s plan to extend mercy and salvation toward the unlikely and unworthy.

Reaching for the Arms of Our Father

Acts 17:26-28

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Commentary

Take an extra moment today and let this sink into your heart. Noah was the man that all nations were made from, a man who found favor in the eyes of God. This verse indicates that God has setup history as a divine outworking of a plan filled with mercy, grace, and opportunity for us to seek Him as our loving Father. My heart leaps each time my children reach for me, something I cannot express in words. God set everything up so that we would have every opportunity to reach for him, just like a little child would reach for a parent. Reach and cry out “Abba!” Daddy!

We are Family

John 10:14-16 KJV

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep , and am known of mine.

[15] As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

[16] And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Dear Father in Heaven, hallowed be they name. We lift up all of the brethren to You our King. You and You alone are in control. You are our Saviour, our Creator, You are the I AM! You are the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega! Besides thee there is nothing.

Jesus, we trust You and You alone. You will watch over all of Your sheep, all of our brothers and sisters. They are scattered across the world. Keep each of us on your path, the straight and narrow path. If we begin to stray to the wide road where there are many and it only leads to the wide gate where many are deceived and think they know the way. I pray Jesus that You will do whatever it takes to bring each one of us back to the fold. We are kept safely there with You, our good shepherd.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we ask and pray all these things! We love You for all that You have done for each one of us who believes in and on You! Praise You Jesus! Hallelujah! We give You all the praise and glory! Amen and again I say amen!

Simple

John 6:29 is really pretty simple. Yet we as created people try our hardest to try to make simple things complicated.

I looked up the definition of simple. First it came up with definition as adjectives :

  1. Easy to understand
  2. Not complicated
  3. Free of deceit, sincere
  4. Humble or lowly
  5. A simple way of thinking

As a noun:

  1. Something simple, uncompounded
  2. Person of humble origins

Then I looked at the synonyms. I really liked the clarity they added to what was already easy to understand.

  1. Clean
  2. Homey
  3. Humble
  4. PURE
  5. Absolute
  6. Not difficult
  7. **childlike and innocent
  • A couple of things I noticed as I chose the words that describe the WORD of GOD that is given to us in the Holy Bible, the scriptures.

Psalm 116:6 (KJV)

The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and He helped me.

Matthew 18:3 (KJV and NIV)- Jesus is speaking

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

NIV

And he said, Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Romans 8:16

KJV The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

NIV The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

A couple of things I take away are:

Humble ourselves before the LORD and ask for Him to help us and teach us and reveal Himself to us in His word. So that we might truly be converted, or changed, and so that we become like or as little children. But wait! Are you saying we should be childish? NO, not childish in our behavior or thinking; but innocent as children, pure as children. Children are always learning and growing. They trust their Father and no one can convince them that their Father is wrong, or that they can’t TRUST Him. They believe His word with everything that is in them!

Praise God! Keep it simple and believe in Jesus Christ, hold onto your faith! Don’t become like teenagers who go out into the world and begin listening to worldly people such as their teachers or so many other unbelievers trying to confuse you. Holding on to the truth of Jesus Christ and be not deceived.

John 6:29

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Commentary

The question is, “Who sent Jesus Christ?” For believers, it’s not really a question…because we know God the Father sent Him.

However for some, it is a question. Some say Jesus is a prophet, some say He was merely a teacher.

The issue on the table is His claim to deity; the claim He made to be God. Being a Christian means you believe that claim, and also believe He took the fullness of God’s wrath on the cross in our place.

Among all the things you could “do for God”, one thing matters most. Believe in Jesus Christ – “who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8)

Thank You Jesus

Romans 5:8

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Commentary

Trust that God loves you. Christ came and opened a door for us to return to right relationship with God. When Christ lived, we were not looking for a door, nor was it in our minds to get back to right relationship with God. The Pharisees and Saducees were waiting on a Messiah that they crucified. How great the mercy and grace of God that through Christ He made a way to throw open the door of salvation for all people. He did it while humankind was too busy to be bothered; even His chosen people rejected Him. Thank you God that your love for us never fails!

United Nations Human Rights – continues bias

Article taken from “Behold Israel ews” March 25th 2018.

UNHRC Passed 5 Anti-Israel Resolutions In Geneva

As with last year, UNHRC passes 5 anti-Israel resolutions; 2 passed on Syria, and 1 on Myanmar, N. Korea and Iran; Haley: Today’s actions make clear that the organization lacks the credibility needed to be a true advocate for human rights.

The United Nations Human Rights Council passed five anti-Israel resolutions in Geneva on Friday.

The 47 member council held its first annual session of the year, passing anti-Israel resolutions and demanding restitution for a UN school damaged during 2014 Operation Protective Edge in the Gaza Strip.

Five resolutions were passed by the UNHRC, including resolutions centered on adherence to previous resolutions deeming Israeli settlements and the Golan Heights, illegal, a resolution on the “Palestinian’s right to self-determination” and a resolution to ensure “accountability and justice for all violations of international law in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including east Jerusalem.”

United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, again condemned the United Nations, releasing the statement “When the Human Rights Council treats Israel worse than North Korea, Iran and Syria, it is the council itself that is foolish and unworthy of its name. Today’s actions make it clear that the organization lacks the credibility needed to be a true advocate for human rights.”

On the United States’ membership to the UNHRC, Haley stated “The United States continues to evaluate our membership in the Human Rights Council. Our patience is not unlimited. Today’s actions make clear that the organization lacks the credibility needed to be a true advocate for human rights.” The United States and Israel announced last year that it would leave the council if it continued its biased abuse on the State of Israel.

Last year, the UNHRC also passed five anti-Israel resolutions, Haley at the time warning “As you know, the United States is looking carefully at this council and its participation in it. We see some areas for significant strengthening.”

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations responded to the council’s calls for compensation on damages to one of its schools in the Strip, stating “Instead of making demands of Israel, the UN should ask Hamas for compensation, for using its facilities to harm civilians… [it] should also investigate how time and again, a terrorist group, which uses Gazans as human shields, exploits these facilities for its own use.”

Two resolutions were passed on Syria, and one one Myanmar, North Korea and Iran.
