God Speaks

Some may say God doesn’t or hasn’t….some say He isn’t even here and never has been. What do you say? What will you say?

On various occasions in the Old Testament, God chose to communicate audibly with individuals. God will always find a way to make contact with those who want to know him. Some of those occasions are listed here.

God’s Message

Ezekiel 2:1-8

Let us not forget Job chapters 38, 39, 40 and 41.

Dear Father in Heaven-Why?

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
(Mat 5:45 KJV)

We have all seen them.  The horrible pictures.  The rain that came so fast.  They expected some rain yes but THIS?

Image result for pictures of houston flood

So much loss.  So much tragedy.  So much pain.  If you did not lose a loved one then the rest is just stuff right?  Sure, as long as it was not your stuff.  Right?  We know that is the truth.  Be thankful.  While it might be the truth, when you are in the middle of this you are sad.  Maybe you lost all your family photo’s.  Maybe you lost everything except your life, like Job.

So, again we ask why?

Job 37:10-16

By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
(Job 37:10 KJV)

Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
(Job 37:11 KJV)

And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
(Job 37:12 KJV)

He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
(Job 37:13 KJV)

(Here the Lord gives us 3 possible reasons.  ‘I personnnally found for his land interesting’.)

Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
(Job 37:14 KJV)

Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
(Job 37:15 KJV)

Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
(Job 37:16 KJV)

I see these last 3 verses and think…  Do we notice when the sun shines on us and the temperature is that perfect 75 degrees?   Do we notice when everything is going perfect?  Do we notice when we buy and buy more and more things?  Do we give thanks in all of the good things ALL of the time?

God is good ALL the time.  When it rains it comes on the just and the unjust.  We all should look within and see if we have any house cleaning to do.  I for one know I always so.  After taking a personal inventory and doing some personal repenting, maybe just maybe it would do us some good to notice all of the beauty that surrounds us most days.  The butterflys that we watch land on a beautiful flower.  The hummingbirds looking for some sugar.  Sit in a quiet place and listen to the birds sing.  Go to a park and watch children play.  Learn to enjoy some of the simple things God surrounds us with on most days.

Thank you LORD God!  Thank you for helping us to look up into the heavens.  Look up and just shout THANK YOU JESUS!  For you are an Awesome God and YOU are so very worthy of more than all of our complaints.  Thank You!!!  We praise your Holy name!

God, Why is This Happening to Me?

Ever ask this question?   I know I have.  Ever had anyone ask why God would let such horrible things happen to seemingly good people?   Why the loss of a child?  Why such horrible child abuse leaving some to grow up as mean and abusive people themselves?  Why some end up with nothing and struggle to just have a roof over their head?  Why did the tornado come through and destroy the lives of so many? Why am I disliked by everyone?  Why, why, why???  The questions go on and are never-ending. In the book of Job he asks God many questions.  God answers quite clearly in one chapter. In a nutshell God asks Job, WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I BUILT THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE WORLD,  ….He goes on to talk about all the amazing things He has done and created.

Who are we to question the God of everything including our very being.  It is very humbling.   In Genesis 50 it gives us a great understanding of how God’s plan in the longterm is so much more than we can ever imagine.   We only see what is before us, what’s is hurting our hearts.  We usually cannot even fathom anything good coming from something horrible and painful in our lives.   Romans 8:28 tells us that God can turn ALL things to the good for those who are called by Him and for His good purpose.   If you are a child of God then we can cry over pain, but we need to say ok Lord, this stinks and I don’t understand the why but I give it to You and trust You are going to do something great with this even if I may never know what the end picture will look like. My life is yours.  Yes, we can cry.  Yes we should cry out to God in our pain and it is ok to ask Him WHY LORD,  WHY.  Then we must resolve to trust Him and pick ourselves up and allow God in all His mercy to change us and mold us into that which He has desired and planned for us.  That is when God can begin to use the negative for His good purpose and in the end to glorify Himself. Praise God!

Genesis 50:18-20
His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him. “We are your slaves,” they said.  But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?  You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

After everything that Joseph has been through, he continues to show great wisdom in how he deals with his brothers. The experience of meeting them again after they had betrayed him was very difficult, yet God continues to give him strength to be the man who he saw in a dream so long ago. There are times in life when other people try to do us harm – or some kind of harm simply happens to us. These things do not surprise God, and it is within His power to work them out for His good purpose. Praise God for His faithfulness and strength!

Picture Mercy

Matthew 5:7
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
To be merciful is to be like God. Mercy is part of God’s character. Many times when we feel anger or resentment well up inside of us forgiveness and mercy rush from the Holy Spirit to go to war with our own urges of revenge. How much were you forgiven by God? Consider what it cost God to forgive you. You were purchased. In showing mercy to others we share what God has done for us in Christ; putting on display the gospel message. Forgive. Step in and intercede for someone in trouble. Believe in someone who doesn’t deserve it. He is with you.

Where is Hope – God . . . are You there?

Psalm 65:2-4

2. You who answer prayer, to You all people will come.

3. When we were overwhelmed by sins, You forgave our transgressions.

4. Blessed are those You choose and bring near to live in Your courts!

We are filled with the good things of Your house, of Your holy temple.

Job 19:7

“Though I cry, ‘Violence!’ I get no response; though I call for help, there is no justice.

Job 19:10

He tears me down on every side till I am gone; He uproots my hope like a tree.

Psalm 5:2

Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to You I pray.

Ephesians 6:18

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Dear Father which art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.  As we come humbly before You Lord, we lift our hands to You and we praise the name of the Jesus.  We exalt thy most holy name.  Dear Lord we adore You yet we have not physically seen You with our eyes. We believe in You. We have faith in You and Your mighty power! We trust You! We have our hope in You!

Heavenly Father, we ask You to help any of us who is lacking in faith.  Maybe we have been beat down, worn out, walked over. Maybe some have prayed and prayed and feel like You are no longer listening to our voices.  We have all been there Lord.  Reveal Yourself to them who desperately are seeking You.  Speak to them who continue to cry out to You. Lord rescue the one who feels they cannot go on one more day. Give them Your strength in their weakness.  Help them to just hold on one more day.

Lord, fill those who are hungry, fill their stomachs. Fill the one with Your peace who is being tortured internally by anxiety.  Give them the peace as You give and not the false peace that the world promises. The world keeps us searching and seeking the peace, the hope, the joy that cannot be filled by anyone or anything but You!

Lord God, help us to know within our souls that when we pray that You do hear us. You are listening to us. Give us the steadfast spirit and the assurance that even if we do not get the answers we seek that it might only mean we need to ask and pray differently.  Sometimes in our selfishness we think are are seeking the right things. Help us oh Lord to look at things from a different perspective. You know what is best for us or for another individual. Help us to see that even when we are in great despair.   Help us to keep praying always and not to lose hope and to continue to give thanks even when we do not understand.  Your word says in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 ….. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 GIVE THANKS in ALL CIRCUMSTANCES; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.  19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil.  23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and  He will do it.

Lord, we lift all our brothers and sisters up to You.  We lift up Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu and pray that the elections that are about to happen, that we will know and accept that Your will was accomplished regardless of our own desires. We know that You are always just and You know exactly what You are doing.  We do have hope that at the end of our road we can always look back and see why things had to work like You planned.  It is not all about us but it is about bringing glory to You! Our Creator! The I Am!  You know exactly what You are doing and we do not need to fear simply because we are not in control, because we never were.  YOU on the other hand always have been.  We ask Father that those of us with lost children will find their way to You.

Thank You for blessing us with Your word.  Your word sustains us. It teaches us.  It is living.  It is true!  It gives us HOPE….the hope that is found only in You.  In the name of Christ Jesus we give thanks for all these things. We praise You for You are most worthy!  Amen.

No Matter What- good & bad times

I will praise the name above all names!

Psalm 71:19-21
Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens, you who have done great things. Who is like you, God? Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again;from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once more.
Job, after being severely afflicted and experiencing loss on a scale that few can imagine, was restored. Job 42:10 says, “After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.” Job says to the Lord, “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” If God takes you to trials, He is able to bring you through them as well. God is in the business of restoration, and Jesus paid the price that makes reconciliation and restoration for everyone possible. Cry out to God – He will answer and be your strength.

Fear who?

Jesus Teaches the Fear of God
4 “And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!

Do you know Christ? Do you know His word? Do you have a relationship with our creator? He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega. He is The Lord God Almighty!

If you don’t know Him, please seek Him today while He still may be found.

God bless all….
