Truth – Is there Any? What is Truth? Does it Even Matter?

In the days of my youth I thought truth was pretty clear.

Today, all I can say is WOW.  The world is so messed up.  Truth, something that should be easy to distinguish has become so twisted that most are totally clueless to what “truth” actually is.

How did it become so murky?  Now I hear that “truth” is depending upon who’s truth you are speaking about.  It can be different if it is my truth.  If it is your truth it might be something else.  Then your coworkers may have even another truth.

WHAT???  See how messy this has become?  How senseless it sounds?  How can you go into a court of law and swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth and in doing so expect for a jury to use each persons “different truth” to decide on a persons innocence or guilt?

When anyone asks a question of me and I know if I answer how I personally think I know it is time to say, let’s go to the word of God and see what the word tells us.  Do the scriptures say anything about truth?  Truth is mentioned in the KJV 237 times.  Here are just a  very few verses.

Jer 5:1 KJV  Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.

This next verse should cause each of us to open our eyes and look around.  How fast has America gone down hill?  How fast are we watching this nation transition from one horrid sin into yet one more and then one more and we are sitting in utter shock wondering what is going on.  Is God trying to get the attention of any?  Yet, are we refusing correction?

Jer 5:3 KJV  O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

This next verse pretty much sums it up.

Jer 7:28 KJV  But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

Jer 9:3 KJV  And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.

Dan 7:16 KJV  I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.

Dan 7:19 KJV  Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

Dan 8:12 KJV  And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.

Dan 9:13 KJV  As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.

Dan 10:21 KJV  But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

Dan 11:2 KJV  And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.

Then of course we have this.  (Climate change?  I don’t think so.)

Hos 4:1 KJV Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

Hos 4:2 KJV By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

Hos 4:3 KJV Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

Blame?  We only each have to look within ourselves.  Stop blaming everyone.  REPENT, turn to the LORD GOD now.

Hos 4:6 KJV My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Jer 8:7 KJV Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.

Jer 8:20 KJV The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

Have We Any Knowledge?

IMG_0624

(Hos 4:1) Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

(Hos 4:2) By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

(Hos 4:3) Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

(Hos 4:6) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

I read these verses and I cannot help but see America.  Verse 1 says not truth, no mercy and no knowledge of God in the land.  Verse 2 says By swearing and lying and killing and stealing and committing adultery….hmmm.  Yes, that verse fits this country too.

Verse 1 tells us that there is no knowledge of God in the land.  Why?

Verse 6 tells us that people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.  Why?

Scripture tells us that we have no knowledge because we HAVE REJECTED KNOWLEDGE.  Because of rejecting knowledge from the one who gives it He will also reject us.

In verse 6 the word destroyed in Hebrew means CUT OFF.  So, my people are cut off for lack of knowledge.

How do we change this?  How do we turn things around?  Can we?

1Sa 2:3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

Psa 14:4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.  (I find it interesting that this is said again word for word in Psalm 53:4.)

Let’s pray.   Dear Father in Heaven, as we read Your words written for us in your Holy Bible help us Lord.  Convict each of us however you need to.  Help us to look at our own lives.  Help us to see where we each are lacking.  Help us Lord God to cry out to You, to seek You, to search for You.  Help us Lord God to have the ears to hear You.  Circumcise our hearts.  Circumcise our ears.  Cut away all our wickedness.  Teach us what the meaning of “fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge”.  Help us to read the scriptures and give us understanding as only You can.  Open our eyes and ears and our hearts.  Deuteronomy 30:6 says…And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of they seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all they soul, that thou mayest live.  Help us Lord God Almighty to learn from You and Your perfect  ways.  In these days we see darkness growing and we desire to be a light in the darkness as You have called us to be.  Fill us with Your Holy Spirit.  Keep our lamps full of oil.  May we be ready on that blessed day when we hear the trumpets blow.  Thank you for hearing our cries and our prayers.  Thank you for not turning your back on us and cutting us off as we know we all deserve.  Thank you for your mercy and your grace.  Help each of us to repent where your holy spirit reveals to each one of us.  Help us then to turn from our wickedness and not go back.  In your strength and your strength alone, help us to stand and not be shaken.  It is in the name of Jesus Christ we ask all these things.  We give thanks unto You!  We praise You!

Psa 119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.

Pro 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Pro 2:1  My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

Pro 2:2  So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

Pro 2:3  Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

Pro 2:4  If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

Pro 2:5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

Pro 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Knowledge
Jesus said many times,  “watch therefore”…”watch and be not deceived”.
Why did He warn us over and over to watch and be careful lest we be deceived?  It is time to wake up to the reality of the evil that is more than most are prepared to comprehend.

God bless you all my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour.

Messages

The last two years the Lord continues showing me certain things.  I believe this is the message.  To me, it pretty much sums it up!  Keep looking up!  Jesus Christ IS coming back!  Keep the faith brothers and sisters!

Ephesians 6:11
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

Revelation 9:11
They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit. His name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.

Revelation 9:21
nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Revelation 3:11
I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.

Is knowledge important?

Proverbs 2
5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.

6 For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 11
9 With his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous escape.

Proverbs 10
14 Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.

Proverbs 18
15 The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge; the ears of the wise seek it out.

Do you hear the ticking?

Look. Watch. Seek. Choose. Pray for wisdom if you dare. Time is short.  I pray you reach out to the only one who can save. I believe we are about to see more than we ever imagined. Jesus come quickly!

1 John 2:20-23
But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.  I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth.  Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son.  No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
Commentary
Recognizing Jesus is the Son of God (the Christ, the Messiah) is everything. Each person has the freedom to believe however and whatever they want to believe about Jesus. It is clear however that what you choose to believe about Jesus Christ means life or death…in the eternal sense. I pray that as we are engaged by the Holy Spirit to introduce and share the gospel message with those we know, that we would respond and obey His leading! I pray that He would go before us and ready their hearts, and lead us in how to best live for Christ to show them the way.

Wisdom? Do You Dare Ask?

Ecclesiastes 1:18
For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.

Reading this verse can cause some if not many to say “thanks but no thanks,”. I mean really, who needs anymore grief in this life? I have many friends who say they are Christians and I have no reason to doubt them, but they don’t want to know any truths. What do I mean? When I begin to tell them things that are happening in the world and how it relates to bible prophecy they get big eyes and fear washes across some of their faces. They say they just do not want to think about any of that. They say I look for too much, I think too much. I continue to search and try to learn too much. I think they do see the grief it has caused me on the inside. NOT BECAUSE I HAVE NO JOY OR BECAUSE I LIVE IN FEAR, no on the contrary. You see, when I see how things in our world really relate to the word of God it only creates a deeper faith in God. As I learn I continue to see more and more. I think it also makes me see how so many are lost. So many do not even realize to the extent of how lost they are. They only want to lose themselves in all the things that give them pleasure in this life. Let’s have FUN! Let’s go shop and buy things because they think it gives them joy. Let’s go here or there and do this or that, because they think it will bring them joy. Let’s get lost in reality TV. WHAT, DO YOU NOT HAVE ENOUGH REALITY ALREADY? They don’t want the truth, the real, the here and now. They don’t want to think about it. The real truth is that God is the only true joy. He is the only One who can fill the voids that we all try so hard to fill.

I love what this commentary says…(Matthew Henry’s Commentary)
Upon the whole, therefore, he concluded that great scholars do but make themselves great mourners; for in much wisdom is much grief, Ecclesiastes 1:18. There must be a great deal of pains taken to get it, and a great deal of care not to forget it; the more we know the more we see there is to be known, and consequently we perceive with greater clearness that our work is without end, and the more we see of our former mistakes and blunders, which occasions much grief. The more we see of men’s different sentiments and opinions the more at a loss we are, it may be, which is right. Those that increase knowledge have so much more the quick and sensible perception of the calamities of this world, and for one discovery they make that is pleasing, perhaps, they make ten that are displeasing, and so they increase sorrow. Let us not therefore be driven off from the pursuit of any useful knowledge, but put on patience to break through the sorrow of it; but let us despair of finding true happiness in this knowledge, and expect it only in the knowledge of God and the careful discharge of our duty to Him. He that increases in heavenly wisdom, and in an experimental acquaintance with the principles, powers, and pleasures of the spiritual and Devine life, increases joy, such as will shortly be consummated in everlasting joy.

My words…
I have lived seeking joy in the things of this world and can therefore compare it to the joy that comes with seeking wisdom from Almighty God. Although along with the joy also comes sorrow and sadness for the lost and the blind, just as I also was once, I will continue to pray that God will never remove the burden from my heart for all those who are lost. I would rather live all the days of my life with the sorrow and grief for the lost that also comes with the joy of knowing The Lord and seeking His wisdom and knowledge. I would rather see all the things God wants me to see than to live one more day in darkness from being blind as I once was.
Thank you My Father in Heaven, Lord of Lords, King of Kings…my Redeemer, my Savior! In the name above all names I give thanks and praise and honor and glory. In the name of Jesus I give thanks….
