Seeking to Listen and Understand and Obey

Ezekiel 2:1-2
And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.  And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.

Commentary
When he was called to be a prophet, Ezekiel has a vision of the “likeness of the glory of the Lord”. This completely drains his strength and he falls facedown. Then the Lord speaks to Him this verse, and as it is being spoken, Ezekiel is provided the strength to stand and hear the word of the Lord. In Christ we are granted the Holy Spirit, and rest assured that there is real power and strength that comes with His residence within us. He is able to strengthen, to counsel, to teach and to convict us. With the Spirit of God living in us, we are able to be ambassadors for Christ, messengers of the gospel, bearers of the living water that is found only in Jesus.

Dear Father in Heaven

Dear Lord God, I pray that You will continue to mold me and shape me. Even though pruning is not fun it is necessary in order that we become more fruitful.   I long to be fruitful and I long to live in a way that brings joy to You.   Help me Lord,  because left to myself I am doomed to fail.

John 15:1-2
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.  He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

Commentary

In Christ Jesus, we are connected to the lifeline that allows us to bear good fruit. If we are led by the Holy Spirit, we will work to offer our gifts, talents, and to be led into opportunities designed by God for our lives. There is a desire to do good, created out of our salvation and love relationship with Christ Jesus, and that desire is blessed. This is just part of the process of “working out our salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12). A healthy fear of the Lord keeps our hearts open, willing to be led in worship to God.

Middle-East Prophecy Update – January 3rd, 2016

Quote from end of update.
“Wake up,  stand up and look up.”

Thank you Pastor JD Farag

Are The Christians Listening? Is Anyone Listening?

WAKE UP BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!

THE BELOW IS PART OF AN ARTICLE FROM ‘AND NOW THE END BEGINS’.

First of all, Pope Francis gave a shout-out to his “Muslim brothers and sisters” when he said this – “I would like to express two sentiments for my Muslim brothers and sisters: Firstly, my greetings as they celebrate the feast of sacrifice.” In case he doesn’t know, Islam clearly teaches that their god, Allah, has no son. None at all. So for a Christian to be a spiritual brother or sister with a Muslim is impossible. The Qu’ran boldly declares that Allah has no son:

“It is not [befitting] for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, “Be,” and it is.”  Surah 19:35,36

Pope Francis has been wooing the Muslims into the Vatican tent for sometime now. In November of 2014, he prayed inside a Mosque in Istanbul, in December of 2014 Pope Francis defended Islam as a “religion of peace”, and just a few weeks ago issued the order for all Catholics in Europe to take in Muslim migrants to live with them in their homes.

BUT IT DIDN’T STOP THERE, NOT BY A LONG SHOT. POPE FRANCIS DECLARED THE WORK OF JESUS ON THE CROSS TO BE A FAILURE

Perhaps the most shocking, the most stunning words to ever come out of the Pope’s mouth had to do with him talking about the “failure of the Cross”. What?? It is because of Jesus on the cross, that we have salvation. It is because of the cross that we now have access to the Father and a FULL pardon for our sins. It is because of the cross that Heaven, and not Hell, is our destination. This is what he said:

“The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds. God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.”

That was it, not another word. You would expect him to say something like “while it appeared to be a failure to His disciples, the cross was actually a victory…” or some such thing. I have heard that preached many times before in church. But the thing is, he didn’t say that. He just simply stated that the life of Jesus on the cross “ended in failure”, which is a complete and total lie. How he could just leave it there, in defeat, to declare the cross a FAILURE and not expound one, tiny bit more is beyond imagination. The Pope, the self-proclaimed “vicar of Christ”, preaching a message of the FAILURE OF JESUS on the cross. Honestly, words fail me at this moment. Truly.

What better way could Pope Francis end a “sermon” whose opening remarks call Christ-rejecting, Hell-bound Muslims our “brothers and sisters”, and whose main point is the “failure of Jesus on the cross”, than by praying to Mary and asking for her blessing:

“Dear brothers and sisters, in a few moments, we will sing the Magnificat. Let us commend to our lady the work we have been entrusted to do. Let us join her in thanking god for the great things he has done…”

You can click here to read the full transcript of this sermon from the pit of Hell, but honestly, why would you want to?

What Have You Read Lately?

Holy Spirit & Faith

Ephesians 4:30
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

1 Thessalonians 5:19
19 Do not quench the Spirit.

Galatians 5:16-18
Walk by the Spirit
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
(Brothers & sisters,  we cannot live life simply by doing that which we desire to do because it feels good but be sure it lines up with the will of the Father. )

Hebrews 11:1
By Faith (what is faith? )
11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

2 Corinthians 5:7
7 for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Hebrews 10:38
38 but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back,
my soul has no pleasure in him.”

Hebrews 11:6
6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

I hope today you all find encouragement in these words. Hold fast to that which we have in Christ Jesus for we are in the last days!

We Exalt You

Exodus 15:11-13
Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you — majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?  “You stretch out your right hand, and the earth swallows your enemies. In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.
Commentary
There is no one like the Lord God. There are only pretenders who would build thrones of lies within your heart. The Lord though, He is the truth that drives out any lie and brings light to any darkness. Joseph was sold into slavery…no problem, because the Lord was with him. Through God’s favor and wisdom, Joseph rises to 2nd in command of Egypt, and is later reunited with his family. Later, the Egyptians make slaves of the Israelites, and they cry out to their God, who is the Lord. He responds. He calls a man named Moses to demand the Lord’s people be released, and though many signs and wonders they eventually are released. Through many more miracles and with His presence leading them, He leads His people to the land He promised. His love endures forever. God’s love never fails! There is no one like the Lord God.

Listening to the World?

Tonight I am still thinking about the same verse from yesterday.  Sometimes I read a verse and really only see one thing and them look at it another time and see something different.  Yesterday my mind was focused on shouting out to the Lord and to continue doing so and keep the faith.  I missed something.  Today I read the verse again and this time the following jumped out at me.  “The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet.”  I immediately thought about how that reminds me of the world around us.  Think about it.  We have called out once and nothing.  Again we wonder if the Lord hears us and then we allow the world to infiltrate our minds.  We turn on the TV and watch things that steal our hope and faith and replace them with doubt.  Let’s face it, TV today is not the Waltons or Leave it to Beaver or Little House on the Prairie.  Today you get a lot of trash.  Movies or sitcoms or talk shows tell us everything is ok and cool and acceptable.   Most of which the word of God clearly says is not His way.  Maybe the crowd is the world around us and is whispering to you instead of shouting.  Maybe putting doubt in place of hope and faith.  Maybe you find yourself thinking like the world and that you must be crazy to keep asking God to help.  Perhaps this is all non existent.  BE CAREFUL BECAUSE YOU WOULD BE LISTENING TO THE CROWD...the crowd that was telling the blind men to shut up.  Keep crying out and don’t listen to the world.

Matthew 20:29-34
As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked. “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.” Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed Him.

Deception. Don’t Be Your Own Problem.

Am I alone?  I find it sobering to think we could be deceiving ourselves.  Fool yourself into thinking you are doing just fine.  What does the word of God say?

James 1:22-25
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
COMMENTARY
Our faith in Christ must collide with appropriate action. Living for Christ implies repentance and the birth of a new creation. A hunger is born for the things of God, and to live according to the new life that is found in Christ. The forgetful listener is the person who attends church every week and listens to the word, but never engages the message toward life change. The Word of God is designed to be lived out, and the hearing of the Word is a catalyst to that change. Satan continues to sabotage your life after you have heard the good news. Disregard the lies and live out the truth!

We all know someone like this. Right?

I think we might know someone like this. In fact I think we could be very intimately aware of them. I might dare to add that it could be possible THAT PERSON deceives even the best of us daily. What do you think?

Ezekiel 28:2
“Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:“ ‘In the pride of your heart you say, “I am a god; I sit on the throne of a god in the heart of the seas.” But you are a mere mortal and not a god, though you think you are as wise as a god.

COMMENTARY
The prince of Tyre might as well have said, “The world revolves around me.” It’s clear who sits on the throne of his heart, and it is not the Lord God. Each day we all face different variations of temptation and evil, but all of it is bent on placing someone other than God on the throne of our hearts. Perhaps it is entertainment or technology, pride or achievement, or even friends or family. Good things are sometimes the best pretenders, and can hold the throne without us even recognizing it. Exodus 34:14 says, “Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” Deuteronomy 6:5 says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” You can’t love Him with everything until your “everything” is loving Him.

(My own commentary)
Let’s be honest with ourselves for a minute. Don’t put the verse in Ezekiel 28:2 in a small box and say that is not me because I don’t think of myself as a god. Ask yourself how many times you get upset with someone who does not agree with you 100%? Obviously you know best right? You are trying to tell them, keep them from making the same mistake you have. Steer them from trouble that you can see coming their way. They simply NEED TO LISTEN TO YOU. OR How many times do we simply say even if just to ourselves…they don’t care, they don’t hear my needs, I have asked over and over and it is like they are not even listening.
We need to STOP IT! Shut our mouths for a bit. We are deceiving ourselves if we think for a minute that these thoughts and attitudes are not putting ourselves up there in the god spot. Sure, we are not intentionally doing it but does that matter? We must pray always, seek God in all things. We must get out of God’s way sometimes and more often than not. Sure, we can offer advice if we see a loved one headed for destruction but if they are not listening then stop. The ONLY TRUE GOD WHO SITS ON THE THRONE has the best and the perfect plan. Maybe this person needs to fall so they can seek the help they need from our Father in Heaven.
Bottom line is that we all either daily or too often think the world revolves around us and people just should do what we say. Give us what we want. Create a happy place for our awesome selves! RIGHT? We must search our hearts daily. When we catch our own hearts and minds deceiving us we need to stop it then. Repent. How will we know? The more we read the word of God the easier we can spot these things. They will become incredibly clear.

Thank you dear Jesus for guiding us every step of the way.

What do you need?

Looking for something?
In search of substance?
Need a broken heart mended?
Looking for comfort?
Seeking love?
Do you feel something you cannot explain?
A pain deep inside that you can’t put a finger on?
Searching endlessly and getting nowhere?

A void never getting it’s fill?
Jesus is the answer. His word is true. You can trust Him.
In verse 37…insert yourself there. Go after Him, follow Him. Verse 38…He will know you are seeking Him. He will not make you run and chase Him, no. He will reach to you and ask “what do you need or want?” You will then pour out your needs, cry out because He is listening. He will then say to you by name, “come and follow me.”

Do you trust Him enough to put it all out there? Allow Him to lead you to a love and healing that you can only experience from our Savior? What have you got to lose except for the list of unanswered questions from the beginning of this blog?

John 1:37-39

37 When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus.

38 Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?” They said, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?”

39 “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying, and spent that day with him. It was about the tenth hour.

What does this mean?

Ok, I kept thinking about the post I just did prior to this one.  I thought the verses were very familiar.  Not simply that I knew them but like I had shared them with someone recently.  I looked on my email and found verses I had shared with others in the past few days and they were all different.  I just now came to my site and yep…there they were.  They were the same ones I used in my January 21 st blog.  The first one I had written something more joyful before the verses.  Today’s seemed more URGENT.

What do you think?

Letter to my Senator

You responded to my email and although you chose wording to try to smooth over the people of the state you represent you made decisions that have clearly spoken what you stand for and clearly who you are working with. I am not a republican or a democrat. I expect the person I vote for to work for the PEOPLE. Unfortunately you have been a part of what I consider the worst administration in my lifetime.

I asked along with many other Americans for you to take a stand for the people who you are supposed to represent. You did stand and therefore clearly defined yourself as our Senator. I will also take a stand at elections. We do not know, you may win or be defeated but we all have the right to make our choices.

I will say that no, I did not want the shutdown of the government but sometimes we have to stand up and try to fight for that which is worth fighting for. Many did that! I have great respect for those who did. They knew they would lose the battle but they stood anyway and took the chance and fought for the Americans and in the end what would be the best for the future of what was once a great nation. First mistake was passing the health bill without being able to know what was in it FIRST. Being told that you must pass it to know what is in it seems to be pretty insane to the majority of those of us on the outside of Washington who actually pay attention to what is going on. Secondly I would have to ask you IF YOU actually ever read and studied the entirety of it AFTER you helped to pass it? My guess would be no. Shame on you for not caring more about the future of your children and grandchildren and our future nation. Maybe you need to take a step back and humble yourself and see beyond Washington and see beyond your world you live in and all those who surround you. Step into the real world. The place where families are afraid of losing their jobs, afraid of how they will feed their families. People did have access to healthcare by the state if not by a job before but Washington tried to paint a different picture. Now most will be in a worse place from a healthcare position. Many will not notice this for a few years but when it becomes evident it will be far too late.

We are and always have been a giving people. When we have not been stripped of our own rights and choices and taxed to death so that we can have a BIGGER and ‘BIGGER government we have had the money to build companies and have jobs that pay others and provide good healthcare AND many families had the money to help those who have needed it. I have given money yearly to others WITHOUT any documentation which means no I would not be able to deduct on my taxes. I have given things and money to those who may not have been seeking government help. I am not alone. This administration is changing that. Soon none of us will be able to help others because every last one of us will be depending on a government who has decided they should tell us all what we can and cannot have and do. They will decide for us if we are deemed too old to TRY chemo to fight our cancer. They will decide if we are to just go back home and die. A couple of years ago my mother in law passed with cancer. She was 72. She had been told two years before and she made the choice to try to battle it. She also made the choice for when she wanted to stop the fight. We should each have the choice. We should not simply be notified by a government board about if we meet the criteria to have treatment or that we simply are not important enough in this world to use the healthcare system that has always been there for us. Sure it is not perfect and some changes need made but this administration is taking us down.

I have never spoken out for anything political in my life until now. I am only one voice. I want you to know I will continue to watch what is going on in Washington. I know Washington is counting on the millions of Americans who are too busy playing games on the internet or too busy watching reality TV to see or to learn what the reality is around them. That is simply where we are today. I will keep fighting for the future of this country. I also assume you will keep playing the games in Washington.

Thank you for your time. I feel certain that you will never see this and your staff MIGHT or might not. God Bless.

Alone

Psalm 142:6-7
Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need;rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me. Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name. Then the righteous will gather about me because of your goodness to me.

Commentary
Our Lord God in Heaven hears! He is not a stranger to our circumstances, troubles, or hardships. Nothing in your life is secret from the Lord, or too big of a burden for Him to carry. There are times when hardship comes, and our response to all hardship, all problems, should be to turn to the Lord. We are to worship Him with our very lives, and turn to Him with desperate urgency when the seemingly insurmountable obstacles come our way. God is bigger than anything that attempts to destroy or deceive us, and He is able to deliver! When we are delivered, we become witnesses to His goodness!
