Know God or KNOW God?

John 5:31-40

If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true. Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth. But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Commentary

Today, consider vs. 39-40. Jesus is speaking to the religious leaders of the time – the ones who have memorized scripture. You can study scripture all of your life and still not come to Jesus. Knowing God comes to you through relationship with Jesus Christ. You can know about God without knowing God yourself. These scholars of scripture are waiting for a foretold savior’s arrival, yet they do not recognize that Christ is that savior…that Messiah. Christ alone is the living Word of God that sets us all free from the law of sin and death.

Needing a Friend

Be careful and choose your friends wisely. Later I have something to share with you all. It is a clear warning to each of one of us . I am 52 and I have just become aware of this wicked thing being disguised as something good. (My hope will be to reveal just how easy it is to be deceived in this busy hectic world. Often we just glance at something that seems good and claims to be Godly and we go with it. I will show later how dangerous that is. Stick close to Jesus Christ in these dark days. He is truly our best friend and our ONLY hope. (If you seek Jesus Christ only then the Holy Spirit will dwell with you and guide you and you won’t have to fear being fooled by the deception that is scattered like litter all around us. Waiting for one to trip and fall and to be devoured by the evil prowling around for the next victim.

1 Thessalonians 5:20-24

Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Commentary

There is clearly a place for the prophetic in the new covenant in Christ Jesus. Prophecy upon prophecy was fulfilled by the life of Christ and in many situations Jesus mentions that He does certain things to “fulfill that which was spoken” by various Old Testament prophets. Part of our sanctification is training in the discernment of what is good and what is evil. This work cannot be done apart from the power of God manifest within us in the person of the Holy Spirit. In this way God is right there with us going through each test and trial, leading and shaping us for His glory.

God Cares

Genesis 6:5-9

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Commentary

Verse 5 isn’t talking about people having weak moments; the picture here is a total and complete corruption of the human heart. The people here were “hell-bent” on anything and everything except for God. In this moment, we see God’s desire for justice. Yet, Noah found favor. The KJV says that Noah found grace. God is Just, and God gives grace. The cost of sin is death and we are saved from that cost by Jesus. God’s wrath for all sin hit Jesus instead of us. That makes Jesus “the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him”. (John 14:6)

Close Your Eyes & Listen (Ask yourself after what you REALLY think…God already knows-do you?)

Scripture and Climate Change

I find it rather frightening that the amount of people falling for this climate change is so large. People are very deceived.  God tells us in Hosea ….

First scriptures are concerning those who want to argue climate change is killing the animals and the fish in the sea.  The second group is for those talking about the heat.

Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

Hos 4:1 KJV

By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

Hos 4:2 KJV

Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

Hos 4:3 KJV

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Hos 4:6 KJV

(the below are about the heat)

Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?

Deu 29:24 KJV

They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.

Deu 32:24 KJV

The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.

Deu 32:25 KJV

And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

Rev 16:9 KJV

The Acts of the Apostles – Movie from the Bible

This is a movie in HD on you tube ‘The two preachers ‘.   They have a total of 4 at the moment.

Do you hate wondering about some of the movies Hollywood puts out these days that totally distorts the word of the Lord?  Deceiving many who do not know better because they don’t read the word for themselves?   This movie is word for word from the book of Acts.  They did use the NIV though,  but from what I watched I think it is a good movie taken from the word and not out of context.

In Need of an Atlas?

This Proverbs verse is clear.  What can be trusted?  Can you listen to the directions given by a man?  Can you trust that a road sign is always correct?  What if you run into a detour?  Was your GPS programmed correctly or updated or is it working in the area you are in?  Is it getting any reception?  May I suggest that the Holy Bible is the atlas for life that we each need.  We need the Word of the living God written on our hearts for any occasion.  Deception is everywhere!

Proverbs 16:25
There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.
COMMENTARY
This verse is evidence that deception and lies attack us. We all have many paths to choose from in this fallen world, and there are many paths that lead to death. These paths are often laden with temptation and enticements that make them look easier or better to travel. Without the Holy Spirit’s help, wisdom, courage, faith, and grace – we will never find a way to take the road that leads to righteousness. Today, know that our path is clear. “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me'”. (John 14:6)
