Thank you Pastor JD
Powerful! This gave me a renewed passion to pray for those I love so dearly that are lost. God works in amazing ways!
Before watching this one in-particular I had told a friend that the 6 day war suddenly reminded me of how God created the world and all in it in 6 days and then rested on the 7th. That suddenly came to my mind and then after I watched this and it mentioned the same. I could not help but to cry as I heard the shofar blow after they reached the wailing wall.
Are you watching? Are you reading the word of God? It is time for much more to happen!
You don’t like Israel you say? You have a list of reasons?
I would say that we each need to pray that the Lord God would show us where we are wrong in any way we think. Pray for God to circumcise (cut away) our hearts of anything wicked, of anything not in line with the will of our Father in Heaven. You see, it really does not matter what we think but only matters what God Almighty desires. His way is perfect, ALWAYS. One day we will see that.
3 That then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath scattered thee.
4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the Lord thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:
5 And the Lord thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.
6 And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
7 And the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.
8 And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the Lord, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.
9 And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the Lord will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:
10 If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.
12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
16 In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20 That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
Why Me Lord
Why me Lord, what have I ever done
To deserve even one
Of the pleasures I’ve known
Tell me Lord, what did I ever do
That was worth loving you
Or the kindness you’ve shown.
Lord help me Jesus, I’ve wasted it so
Help me Jesus I know what I am
Now that I know that I’ve need you so
Help me Jesus, my soul’s in your hand.
Tell me Lord, if you think there’s a way
I can try to repay
All I’ve taken from you
Maybe Lord, I can show someone else
What I’ve been through myself
On my way back to you.
Lord help me Jesus, I’ve wasted it so
Help me Jesus I know what I am
Now that I know that I’ve need you so
Help me Jesus, my soul’s in your hand.
Interview with Guest Speaker Major Amir Tsarfati, August 6, 2016
May God have mercy on us all.
We all see and hear of the terrorism spreading across the world at a rapid rate. I think it is natural to get angry and to spout off our opinions of what we must do to protect our nation’s and our family and friends and even ourselves against this sad ideology. We read the plans behind the ideology. Plans to dominate our entire world and to force their religion on any who think differently than they do. Plans are already in action even here in America. Our colleges, our high schools, our government and even our workplaces. Men, women and even their once innocent children are trained to hate and to kill and to take down anyone who believes differently. Most want Sharia Law. If they came to America and really wanted to live in freedom then Sharia Law wouldn’t be what they want to see. They would go to a country in which that lifestyle is dominant and they could live very happily. They have a large choice of places to do that. So we must ask why do they insist on living in a nation with a completely different set of laws? Why is our government trying to change our way of life ? Why is our government not call it what it is? Why do we see people speaking at our National Day of Prayer, against Christians? Putting the Christian faith down? It is a matter of time brothers and sisters. So, we must make up our minds. Be ready. This isn’t going to change. This isn’t going to get better. I believe this will continue at a rapid pace. As the scripture in Leviticus states, we need to prepare to love them, yes, even when they want to kill us. Be ready to share the gospel with each one. I cannot help but to think of the book of Acts when Stephen was sharing the gospel and they all began to stone him. As he was being stoned he cried out for our Father in Heaven to forgive them. He then died. You may ask, why not fight them back? My thoughts first of all are we will only continue to fight and kill but we will not win this war here on earth. When it truly hits in America we will be far out numbered. Especially when you can clearly see our government is already infiltrated by plan and will therefore not be here to help the Christians. We all know we only live here a short time. The Lord wishes none to perish but to have eternal life. When we are faced with this terrible time, I would say to each one (myself included), to share as many words of the gospel and ask the Lord to forgive them and have mercy on them just as He has given each of us. You may die regardless, but one heart just might be penetrated and sofened and might then cry out to the one true God. The one who has the power to give life and take it and power to raise one from the dead. Has the power to change the heart of the corrupt. That might begin with love that we can show to one who only wants death to us. We are only able to love because God first loved us.
“‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.
I can’t help but think of “love your neighbor as yourself” when I read this verse. Here nestled in the Old Testament law is a verse that commands love for all who “reside in our land”. Because Israel was once slaves and strangers in the land of Egypt, the command is to treat foreigners in their land better – much better than they were treated by the Egyptians. God can and will do amazing things through loving relationship and community. The command to Israel, and to us today, is of love – because God Himself is love.

So, maybe this matters to you and maybe it won’t.
If you say you are a Christian who believes the Holy Bible to be the only source for truth and you believe there to be ONLY ONE TRUE GOD and the ONLY way to the Father is through the son of God Jesus Christ and His blood that was shed for all who would receive Him. If you believe that the uniting of all religions is wrong because we DO NOT all worship the same God..the true God, our Creator and our Savior and the Alpha and the Omega. If you are praying for discernment from God Almighty so that you might know who to vote for THEN you might find this statement from Marco Rubio to be eye opening.
I had read this a couple of months back and thought it to be a little odd but didn’t dwell much on it. I had been looking up each of the Republican candidates and reading about each one in Wikipedia. Last week at work the girls were talking about Rubio and how he was coming hereto speak and where he would be. It was going to be at a church comments were made about him being a Catholic and so was it a Catholic church. I chimed in at that time and said that I had read he attends both Catholic and Baptist churches. They looked at me like I had lost my mind. I began thinking did I read it wrong as it did sound pretty stupid. Yep, I found it again and I read it to the other ladies. We all differ in our views and myself and one of the others are on the same thoughts and the others actually believe all religions are to the same God and they go to church where the practicing homosexual life is acceptable. Anyway below is the snapshot of what was written. You can look it up yourself. I would like to ask the question. So Rubio sounds good when speaking out about our religious freedom and how he will stand up for Christians but, what is he not telling us if anything? Maybe he is confused. Maybe he uses this for votes. What if he could be used to continue the uniting of a one world religion alongside the pope, if he were to become president?
I am not saying anything except to read this and pray for discernment as this is rather interesting.
Very interesting indeed.
Dear Lord God Almighty, I ask You to give each of Your children the gift of discernment. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray…amen.
(CRÉDIT BELONGS TO HE IS COMING..ARE YOU READY? )
For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely- Jeremiah 6:13 (KJV).
One of the most shocking statements uttered from the lips of Pope Francis yet:
And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and produce no fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus… and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.” (FULL TRANSCRIPT BELOW)
There are those that have suggested that what the Pope said might have been taken out of context, or perhaps he meant something different.
We cannot argue the context, we can only argue a possible translation error. However, the Vatican confirms the translation. So, now we are left with an ambiguous game of semantics. I stand firm on the fact that the POPE suggested that Jesus failed at the cross. Even the cane or staff that the Pope uses during his ceremonies is defeating! Everything always shows the DEATH OF JESUS’ rather than the GLORY of the RISEN SAVIOR. This to me, bears much witness to his statement that JESUS was defeated at the cross.
God wanted us to FOCUS ON THE RESURRECTION, the meaning of LIFE through JESUS. So the carrying around of JESUS dead on a cross, is defeating that message! Another failure of the Catholic “CHURCH”!
Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. – Romans 8:34 (KJV).
Regardless of what Mr. Francis MEANT, did not mean, Pope Francis said, “JESUS FAILED AT THE CROSS.” A disturbing sentence, even with explanation.
Some have argued that he meant it within the context of 1 Corinthians 2:8: “Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” So, if that is what the POPE meant, then one would be looking for him to QUOTE this verse, and the POPE did not mention this verse, at all! So offering this as an excuse is stretching the facts. The fact also that the POPE takes away the deity of Christ, by referring to him as a MAN! JESUS IS GOD. He came as man to overcome satan. JESUS WAS A MAN is different than saying JESUS IS A MAN! That is another point that bears even more witness to his deception.
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. – 2 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV).
Let us be clear: there was no failure on JESUS’ part, but on MAN’s part. Jesus even explained the unbelief of the Jews before he was crucified:
22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. 23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch.24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.30 I and my Father are one. –John 10:22-30 (KJV).
Scripture further tells us that the unbelievers hearts were hardened and they were ignorant to the voice of God (Ephesians 4:18). None of these verses say, JESUS failed, or JESUS did not know how to reach them! It was man who failed to recognize JESUS, it was MAN who hardened their hearts, and it was MAN who was ignorant. And we are told what God thinks of that ignorance:
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: -Acts 17:30 (KJV).
We have to understand that DECEPTIONS are subtle, some so subtle that many miss the deception. We must have the spirit of discernment!
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: -Ephesians 1:17 (KJV).
False prophets are not always easily recognized, but looking at all the evidence mounting, there is plenty of other things that cast POPE FRANCIS into the heretic pile, and he could very well be the FALSE PROPHET spoken of in Revelation 13:11-15, 16:13, 19:20, and 20:10).
But more pointedly, is the deceptive message that Pope Francis delivered before congress. His ambiguous speech, laden with veneers of peace, underneath to the keen ear, was in fact the message of socialism, Marxism, and dictatorship (more on that later in a future article).
Aside from that, let us consider the following also:
The fact that POPE FRANCIS DID NOT EVEN OPEN WITH PRAYER at the congressional address should wave a HUGE RED FLAG TO all! Even the Wiccan Witch invited to the Iowa House of Representatives invoked a prayer before the meeting began! and remember the AMAN of the Islamic Society that caused such a stir, WHY, because he was allowed to open the meeting at the House of Representatives with a prayer to allah! ALARMS ARE GOING OFF!!!!
Pope Francis’ CLIMATE CHANGE stance, blaming man for the woes of earth, is not only ignorant, but HERESY! God told us the earth is dying and wearing old like a garment. Yet, the Pope insisted that man was to blame. He even called for punishment of men who destroy the earth. This would be acceptable for oil and nuclear spills, but he was talking about much more control, and never made mention of the biblical fact the earth is wearing old like a garment.
Another troubling aspect of Pope Francis’ speeches was his refusal to take a stand, much less mention the sin of homosexual marriages and abortion (I urge you to click on this link and READ the comments below the article, there is mass confusion in the gay community. They felt the Pope was including them in protecting rights, and recognizing their importance to family. Here are the excerpts from his speech:
On abortion: “The Golden Rule also reminds us of our responsibility to protect and defend human life at every stage of its development.” (This was his only direct reference to abortion in the speech.)
On same-sex marriage: The closest he came to addressing same-sex marriage was in a passage about the importance of family. And does this mean GAY MARRAIGE? Your guess is good as mine. “I cannot hide my concern for the family, which is threatened, perhaps as never before, from within and without. “Fundamental relationships are being called into question, as is the very basis of marriage and the family. I can only reiterate the importance and, above all, the richness and the beauty of family life.” (This did not appear to be an explicit denouncement of marriage equality.)
Ask yourself this question after reading those statements:
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. -Galatians 1:10 (KJV).
IS THAT THE MESSAGE GOD WOULD SPREAD? Did not the prophets and disciples in the bible make it perfectly clear murder aka abortion are wrong? God lays out his plan for man and woman in marriage- he defined it. GOD IS NOT THE AUTHOR OF CONFUSION! God also clearly says, THOU SHALL NOT KILL and that he hates hands that SHED INNOCENT BLOOD (Proverbs 16:17) There is no confusion in God’s word. He is very clear.
The Pope’s reluctance to admit these facts, reminded me of two pastors who recently stated: “I don’t want to be defined by my stance on homosexual marriage.” And who can forget when the pope first took “office.” In response to a gay man question of is homosexuality wrong, Francis responded: “Who am I to judge?”
No matter what context you put it in, the POPE clearly said JESUS failed at the cross, there is no excuse, or explanation that can be offered to counter this statement that POPE FRANCIS said. The failure is that the Catholic Church continues to usurp the authority of Christ and replace it with the vain teachings of man. The pope is an agent of SATAN.
Let us set the record straight by turning to scripture. The defeat of satan, was prophesied in Genesis BY GOD HIMSELF and the bible explains it very clearly. After satan enticed Eve to eat the fruit of the forbidden tree, we are shown that this is where MAN FAILED. EVE was beguiled by SATAN! As a result, man and earth were cursed. AND, let us not forget, that Satan was cursed, way before the GLORIOUS sacrifice of our RISEN SAVIOR:
And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: – Genesis 3:14 (KJV).
And God further told satan that he would be defeated:
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. -GENESIS 3:15 (KJV).
And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. – ROMANS 16:20 (KJV)
The prophecy of Genesis 3:15 was fulfilled when JESUS died on the cross, JESUS did INDEED defeat satan, and overcame DEATH when he rose again THREE DAYS LATER!
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; – Hebrews 2:14 (KJV).
The undisputable blow was delivered to satan when JESUS died on the cross. This is one of the reasons why JESUS had to become a man—so that he could be tempted and overcome sin (Hebrews 4:15, Matthew 4:1, Romans 8:3).
Jesus not only DEFEATED SATAN at the cross, he defeated SIN, as a man who was able to be tempted! Further proving that SIN IS OVERCOME by the power of JESUS CHRIST!
Colossians 2:14-15 describes what JESUS’ death on the CROSS represented, a VICTORY over law, sin, SATAN, and death:
“And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” -Colossians 2:13-15 (KJV).
When Christ died for our sins, Satan was not only defeated, but through the blood of JESUS, man was able to disarm and defeat satan and the second death, which is eternity in hell. The eternal punishment of death, the very weapon of satan, was stripped from him! Satan was defeated! Those guilty of sin could now be renewed and saved by the blood of JESUS. You see, the accusation of sin was nullified when Christ died! All those who faithfully believe and give their lives to Christ will never perish. Satan cannot separate them from the love of God in Christ! AMEN!!!
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.-Romans 8:37-39 (KJV).
When Jesus said, “IT IS FINISHED,” it was FINISHED. The defeat of satan was finished. Jesus paid the ultimate price, purchased us with his blood, and offered salvation to all mankind.(1 John 3:16). That was not a failure, that resulted in every human who professes JESUS as savior, the ability to have eternal life, the ability to be cleansed by the blood of JESUS!
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.- John 19:30 (KJV).
I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. – John 17:4 (KJV).
All of this just screams, “My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD.” (Jeremiah 51:45) and “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues” (Revelation 18:4).

The bible warns us of FOLLOWING false teachers and chasing after traditions of Man
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils – 1 Timothy 4:1 (KJV).
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ- Colossians 2:8 (KJV).
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect -Matthew 24:24 (KJV).
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry – 2 Timothy 4:3-5 (KJV).
These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence- Colossians 2:23 (KJV).
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.- 1 John 2:18 (KJV).
To the Dearly Beloved Brothers and Sisters who FOLLOW JESUS, and not the false teachings of MAN:
Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped – Isaiah 35: 4-5 (KJV).
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;- Isaiah 61:1-2 (KJV).
POPE FRANCIS’ SPEECH:
Following is the English translation of Pope Francis’ homily during vespers at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Wednesday evening. His speech, delivered in Spanish, was prepared for delivery and released by the Vatican:
“There is a cause for rejoicing here”, although “you may for a time have to suffer the distress of many trials” (1 Pet 1:6). These words of the Apostle remind us of something essential. Our vocation is to be lived in joy.
This beautiful Cathedral of Saint Patrick, built up over many years through the sacrifices of many men and women, can serve as a symbol of the work of generations of American priests and religious, and lay faithful who helped build up the Church in the United States. In the field of education alone, how many priests and religious in this country played a central role, assisting parents in handing on to their children the food that nourishes them for life! Many did so at the cost of extraordinary sacrifice and with heroic charity. I think for example of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, who founded the first free Catholic school for girls in America, or Saint John Neumann, the founder of the first system of Catholic education in the United States.
This evening, my brothers and sisters, I have come to join you in prayer that our vocations will continue to build up the great edifice of God’s Kingdom in this country. I know that, as a presbyterate in the midst of God’s people, you suffered greatly in the not distant past by having to bear the shame of some of your brothers who harmed and scandalized the Church in the most vulnerable of her members… In the words of the Book of Revelation, I know well that you “have come forth from the great tribulation” (Rev 7:14). I accompany you at this time of pain and difficulty, and I thank God for your faithful service to his people. In the hope of helping you to persevere on the path of fidelity to Jesus Christ, I would like to offer two brief reflections.
The first concerns the spirit of gratitude. The joy of men and women who love God attracts others to him; priests and religious are called to find and radiate lasting satisfaction in their vocation. Joy springs from a grateful heart. Truly, we have received much, so many graces, so many blessings, and we rejoice in this. It will do us good to think back on our lives with the grace of remembrance. Remembrance of when we were first called, remembrance of the road travelled, remembrance of graces received… and, above all, remembrance of our encounter with Jesus Christ so often along the way. Remembrance of the amazement which our encounter with Jesus Christ awakens in our hearts. To seek the grace of remembrance so as to grow in the spirit of gratitude. Perhaps we need to ask ourselves: are we good at counting our blessings?
A second area is the spirit of hard work. A grateful heart is spontaneously impelled to serve the Lord and to find expression in a life of commitment to our work. Once we come to realize how much God has given us, a life of self-sacrifice, of working for him and for others, becomes a privileged way of responding to his great love.
Yet, if we are honest, we know how easily this spirit of generous self-sacrifice can be dampened. There are a couple of ways that this can happen; both are examples of that “spiritual worldliness” which weakens our commitment to serve and diminishes the wonder of our first encounter with Christ.
“We can get caught up measuring the value of our apostolic works by the standards of efficiency, good management and outward success which govern the business world. Not that these things are unimportant! We have been entrusted with a great responsibility, and God’s people rightly expect accountability from us. But the true worth of our apostolate is measured by the value it has in God’s eyes. To see and evaluate things from God’s perspective calls for constant conversion in the first days and years of our vocation and, need I say, great humility. The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds: God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and produce no fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus… and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.”
Another danger comes when we become jealous of our free time, when we think that surrounding ourselves with worldly comforts will help us serve better. The problem with this reasoning is that it can blunt the power of God’s daily call to conversion, to encounter with him. Slowly but surely, it diminishes our spirit of sacrifice, renunciation and hard work. It also alienates people who suffer material poverty and are forced to make greater sacrifices than ourselves. Rest is needed, as are moments of leisure and self-enrichment, but we need to learn how to rest in a way that deepens our desire to serve with generosity. Closeness to the poor, the refugee, the immigrant, the sick, the exploited, the elderly living alone, prisoners and all God’s other poor, will teach us a different way of resting, one which is more Christian and generous.
Gratitude and hard work: these are two pillars of the spiritual life which I have wanted to share with you this evening. I thank you for prayers and work, and the daily sacrifices you make in the various areas of your apostolate. Many of these are known only to God, but they bear rich fruit for the life of the Church. In a special way I would like to express my esteem and gratitude to the religious women of the United States. What would the Church be without you? Women of strength, fighters, with that spirit of courage which puts you in the front lines in the proclamation of the Gospel. To you, religious women, sisters and mothers of this people, I wish to say “thank you”, a big thank you… and to tell you that I love you very much.
I know that many of you are in the front lines in meeting the challenges of adapting to an evolving pastoral landscape. Whatever difficulties and trials you face, I ask you, like Saint Peter, to be at peace and to respond to them as Christ did: he thanked the Father, took up his cross and looked forward!
Dear brothers and sisters, in a few moments we will sing the Magnificat. Let us commend to Our Lady the work we have been entrusted to do; let us join her in thanking God for the great things he has done, and for the great things he will continue to do in us and in those whom we have the privilege to serve.
http://www.sounddoctrine.net/Nick/Questions_Roman_Catholicism_pope.htm Have you ever wondered about the pope? I always heard that Catholic faith is wrong and heard things like, “they worship Mary” and so on. I was watching something on the Vatican and it said something about how the pope stood in place for Christ. WHAT? That led me on a search and I found this article. Whatever you believe I hope the Holy Spirit speaks truth into your heart soul and mind. I pray the same for myself.
If you go to the original post for “Behind the Curtain” dated 2-5-13 you will see I had set out to begin a discussion on a book in the Holy Bible. I did not get any responses so, I will simply share what God revealed to me.
The day I read this I was on my lunch break and asked the Lord to reveal something to me. I took my phone and pulled up one of my many bibles I have downloaded and randomly stopped at this spot and began reading. Not looking for anything in particular I had one of those “God Moments”. I was pulled in. That night I pulled out the old style bible, you know the one with real pages that you turn and they can litterally tear? Sometimes I need the one with pages so I can flip back and forth and simply feel like I can really see everything.

Verse 3 So she went out and began to glean in the fields behind the harvesters. As it turned out, she found herself working in a field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan Elimelech. (My opinion is that “as it turned out” was not a coincidense and it was planned that way by God. God will lay a path for us and we simply need to seek Him and trust Him. This passage shows me that He did just that. He was taking care of Ruth.)
Verse 4 Just then Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters,….(I do not know but I wonder did Boaz come out every day? Since it says “Just then Boaz arrived”, that makes me think maybe that was another God moment, another instance of perfect timing? Please share your thoughts or knowledge of history.)
Verse 5 and 6 and 7 (Boaz makes a point to ask the foreman just who this woman is. She was noticed. The foreman told of how she asked if she could please work in the field and she had worked hard and steadily all morning.)
Verse 8 and 9 So Boaz said to Ruth, “my daughter, listen to me. Don’t go and glean in another field and don’t go away from here. Stay here with my servant girls. Watch the field where the men are harvesting, and follow along after the girls. I have told the men not to touch ou. And whenever you are thirsty, go and get a drink from the water jars the men have filled.” (Clearly Boaz has went out of his way for this young girl. He made it clear for her to follow along and she could work with his girls and she could get water to drink when thirsty and that HE TOLD THE MEN NOT TO TOUCH HER. I mean he clearly went above and beyond. To me this shows how God clearly used Boaz to give her what she needed and to assure she was also given protection. Verse 10 shows how thankful and humble she was for what he was doing for her. )
If you continue reading you will see that he feeds her and they have further conversation. Boaz is referred to as a man who’s strength is sensitive to those in need, a man of his word, a man of integrity and a good business man. He did clearly show that in this passage. BUT, God led Ruth there. God led her to a place where she “just so happened” to walk onto his field and he “just so happened” to come up at that time and noticed her and asked about her. God took care of her. She was fed and clearly protected from the men who worked there. God worked through Boaz to give her more than she would have expected. God gave her exceedingly more than she would ever have thought.
How many times has the Lord done that for you? How many times has He done it and we never even have a clue of how much more He has allowed us to have? Take the steps and God will make the way. He will provide everything you need.
Praise God! Thank you for your mercy and grace and for your forgiveness. Thank you for loving each of us when not one of us is deserving of it but you love us that much. Thank you, thank you.
When you fly in a plane and look down on all the highways and the cars and trains and trucks and buses and people walking. Then don’t forget all the houses and the office buildings and skyscrapers.
Now…..stop and think….ask yourself….
Is it really all about me? There are so many out there just like you and me. We each are going through our own struggles. Not one of us is without one.
Do you really think there is not a God? Do you really believe you are the only one facing hurt and torment? Saddness? Joy? Are you really the only one shedding tears? The only one with a broken heart?
We are each and every one in need of a savior. Ask Jesus today to come into your life.
God bless each one of you…..
I suppose some of my friends will like this and some will not. I know those close to me sometimes wonder why I seem cranky at this time of year.
Am I a Grinch? No.
I am sickened by what this time of the year has become. I am sickened that it is NOT what it was or what I think (my opinion anyway…we all have one) it should be.
HOW I SEE IT….
People getting so ready to begin shopping that the retail industry begins to advertise and decorate before we even can get the Halloween things off the shelves. Now November 1 comes and you still have to get to Thanksgiving and we are already seeing blinking lights from trees inside of stores and other tell-tale signs all around. Some places are even beginning to play a little Christmas music before Thanksgiving is over. Then we have the wonderful and something that has become a national holiday on its own in some views…BLACK FRIDAY. When it first began it seemed to be something that was ok…it gave people who might not have the money to buy something for their child the ability to do so. NOW it is a crazy and sickening day. A day for everyone who has or has not money. A day for everyone to purchase crap they do not need. A day to show how much greed we in the USA have. We buy and steal and kill on that day. Fight each other in stores so crowded that you have a headache just thinking about it. Some actually live for that day. Some may even die for that day. People are buying so much stuff that they throw at their kids so that we are only creating another generation who will be even worse than the one we have now.
What about being content with that which we have? What we need? Instead we are teaching our children that more is better. Those who don’t have more feel they don’t measure up or they are doing with out. ROMANS 1:29-30 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity; whisperers. PROVERBS 16:8 Better is a little, with righteousness, than great revenues with injustice.
Let me ask a question…is it any wonder that some people from other cultures look at us and hate us? I mean I look at how we as a people behave and dislike what I see. Disgusted with what I see. Am I or have I been right there…YES and I won’t lie. When I was younger I thought I needed more and I was jealous of all those who seemed to have it better than myself. I hated that as a single mother who struggled without child support to buy her children gifts at Christmas that I was left feeling sad and did not want my children to feel less than others. I hated that they would go to school and everyone would talk about what they got for Christmas and my children would feel sad. It broke my heart. I am not disgusted at that nor angry about that but I see clearer now from a view from above looking down on this chaos. My children are now grown men and strong military men. God helped me and I am proud of them. Now one son strives to make sure that his kids have everything they want. Sometimes my grandchildren seem snotty…like they should get everything. I think my son now sees that and tries to make them see that they are blessed with what they get and that they don’t NEED any of it…they only NEED a roof over their head and food to eat and water to drink and clothes on their back and that is it. My granddaughter said “I need a bed to sleep in”. My son said, “no you do not NEED that.” By the way, she does have a bed.
We have people in real need in this world. We have people in the streets here in our own country. Even our poorest are better off than most of the people in other countries. I am NOT saying that is our fault. I did not vote for Obama or agree with any of his ways. I simply think we as a country have lost the values we once had. That is not this presidents fault, that is our cultures fault. Our families faults.
I had a friend that had no money as a single mother. I admired what she set out to do. She made it so that her children only received 3 gifts each at Christmas. Did not matter if she had extra money or not..3 was it. Did not matter how much their father bought them and how it made her feel she was not as great in her boys eyes as their dad was because of what they received. She told them that Jesus received gifts from the 3 wise men and therefore they would keep Christmas under control with three gifts. I liked it. I still like it. I mean do our children need so much they don’t even have a place to stick it?
Ok…go ahead and slam me people….tell me how pathetic I am. I will also say that as a person who has dealt with depression over the years that many people are sad. How many people feel very lonely at this time of year? I don’t have factual numbers so I won’t go there but it is not a happy and joyous time for all.
Don’t get me wrong. I do recognize that we do a lot of good for others at this time of year too. We really do. I simply think we need to tone it down on and get back to what God would be happy to see out of us. What would bring joy to God to see His children do at this time of year.
Keep it real. Keep it under control. Get back to the real reason for Christmas. Remember, you cannot take it with you.
Love, Peace and Joy to all…..remember Jesus is the reason for the season.
God Bless……………give Him the glory!
