God Cares

Genesis 6:5-9

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Verse 5 isn’t talking about people having weak moments; the picture here is a total and complete corruption of the human heart. The people here were “hell-bent” on anything and everything except for God. In this moment, we see God’s desire for justice. Yet, Noah found favor. The KJV says that Noah found grace. God is Just, and God gives grace. The cost of sin is death and we are saved from that cost by Jesus. God’s wrath for all sin hit Jesus instead of us. That makes Jesus “the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him”. (John 14:6)

Cross Offends

I know that this is a few years old. It is more relevant today. May lives continue to be changed while we still have the opportunity.

Do You Feel Used?

So often it is hard to see the good in things. Especially when we can be feeling abused by those around us. I have been reminded this morning about the verse in James that says to count it all joy … James 1:2-3 (KJV) My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

2 Corinthians 2:14

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

It is so gracious of God to choose to use us. He didn’t have to include us in His plans, and He doesn’t have to use us to accomplish His purposes. Out of His great love however, He decided not only to provide for us the opportunity to triumph in Christ through salvation, but to share the gospel message through us. We are blessed to be involved in God’s story. May our lives portray the life of Christ!

Are they all bad? Are they all evil? Are they all spotted easily? I would so no. In appearance many are not coming with a neon flashing light saying I am from your enemy! ! On the contrary because if that were true it would be so much easier to turn and run for your life.

1 Corinthians 10:13

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

As believers, we will be tempted. The idea of temptation relates to how we are attacked or addressed by the world and the forces of evil. A thought, a circumstance, words spoken to you; sometimes it doesn’t take much to cause us to be tempted. Evil strikes at opportunities that make you feel as though you are powerless to defend. God allows you to be tempted that you may hold strongly to Him and show your faithfulness. You are equipped to stand firm which, in some cases, means to flee from temptation. Temptation is not sin, but that is where it leads.

Netanyahu Confirms Israel To Withdraw From UNESCO

From:Behold Israel. ..December 24th 2017.

Again, I say keep watching, keep praying.

Israel to follow United States in withdrawing from UNESCO; Netanyahu addresses Abbas, end of peace process; Abbas met with Macron in Paris, claims US “has proven to be a dishonest mediator in the peace process,” Dec. 24, 2017.

In his weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday, Prime Minister Netanyahu confirmed that Israel would follow the United States and withdraw from UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, at the end of this year.

The prime minister confirmed over the weekend that he instructed Israel’s Foreign Ministry “to withdraw from UNESCO,” stating Sunday “I think that this is appropriate, given this organization’s biased, one-sided and absurd attitude toward us, and against the background of the US’s strong stand at the UN, which we welcome.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu also addressed Abbas’s announcement on Friday that the United States was a “dishonest mediator in the peace process”. Netanyahu stated Sunday “He [Abbas] declared that he is quitting the process and, in effect, is not interested in any proposal that the US might submit. I think that once again it is becoming clear: It is the Palestinians who do not want to resolve this conflict.”

Netanyahu added “The US has said something else that is very important: The root of the general conflict in the Middle East does not lie in Israel, but in Iran and in radical Islam and the terrorism that it inspires. All of these are the true reasons that have been revealed to everyone. Whoever sees clearly and has integrity cannot deny them.”

The U.S. State Department confirmed the United States’ withdrawal from UNESCO in October of this year after the organization adopted several resolutions denying Jewish and Israeli heritage to religious sites in Israel, mainly Jerusalem. It announced it would remain a “non-member state” as to in “contribute U.S. views, perspectives and expertise on some of the important issues undertaken by the organization, including the protection of world heritage, advocating for press freedoms, and promoting scientific collaboration and education.”

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met with French President Emanuel Macron in Paris Friday, their meeting part of the Palestinian’s efforts to find a new peace broker in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as well as lobby support against Israel and the United States.

Abbas again announced on Friday that “The United States has proven to be a dishonest mediator in the peace process and we will no longer accept any plan from it,” and claimed that the Palestinians have “trust” in France and that “We respect the efforts made by you and we count heavily on your efforts.”

On President Trump’s announcement that American aid would be cut from countries that vote for the resolution against the United States’ recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, Abbas stated he “hoped that the others will learn the lesson and understand that you cannot impose solutions by using money and trying to buy off countries.”

Macron stated that France would not make a unilateral decision on a future Palestinian state without approval of the European Union, criticizing the United States for its decision on Jerusalem stating, “The American mistake was to want to unilaterally manage from afar a situation whose solution is in the hands of the Israelis and Palestinians… The Americans have marginalized themselves and I am trying to not do the same thing.”

Last week, Abbas sent two Palestinian Authority delegations to China and Russia in efforts to find a “new international sponsor for the peace process”, the PA confirming “The two delegations will convey a message from President Abbas to Russia and China, the purpose of which is to find a new international sponsor for the peace process, in the framework of the United Nations, in order to replace the American sponsorship.”

Around the same time, Russia offered to replace the United States as an “honest mediator” to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Russia’s Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations, Vladimir Safronkov, made the offer following the United Nations Security Council vote on Jerusalem on Monday. According to Russian media, he stated “We [Russia] are ready to become an honest mediator here.”

John 5:8-15 KJVS

Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

[9] And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

[10] The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

[11] He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

[12] Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

I do find it interesting that the Pharisees, those claiming to be so religious, didn’t seem to care about the miraculous healing but only wanted to know who told him to break the sabbath law by carrying his bed.

Do we ever find ourselves more focused on a rule we deem more important than on other things that are in play? Are we so focused on a rule that we are blind to something else that God just might be doing?

[13] And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.

[14] Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

[15] The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

(Commentary from my study bible)

This man had been lame, or paralyzed, and suddenly he could walk. This was a great miracle. But he needed an even greater miracle—to have his sins forgiven. The man was delighted to be physically healed, but he had to turn from his sins and seek God’s forgiveness to be spiritually healed. God’s forgiveness is the greatest gift you will ever receive. Don’t neglect his gracious offer.

Pruned for Better Fruit

Luke 8:15 KJVS

But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it , and bring forth fruit with patience.

My prayer.

Dear Father in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven.
Abba Father, please never give up on me. CHANGE MY HEART, MY MIND, MY SOUL. Make the DESIRES OF MY HEART ONLY be that which is pleasing to YOU! Help me not to be distracted by the evil in this wicked world. Help me not to be fearful of anything in this world. Help me to trust YOU in ALL ways. Help me Abba Father to live my life from this day forward, different, better, producing good fruit. Good fruit for all to see. Good fruit that does not glorify me BUT glorifies YOU, the Father of all who believe and who love and who receives your only begotten son Jesus Christ and what He has done for all who will receive Him. Jesus Christ died, shed His blood, took the wrath that He didn’t deserve but it was the wrath which all who sin, every person alive or now dead deserves. Jesus Christ has already won the victory over death that we who believe might have eternal life. This is who our fruit should glorify, the Father. Help me to live my life in such a way that all will know that I love You. Not because I am so great, BUT because Jesus Christ first loved us so that we might be able to love. That is the only way we might possibly be able to love others. Thank You Jesus, I praise Your Holy name and ask all these things in Your most Holy name. Amen

Purpose of Deuteronomy

I like this….

To remind the people of what God had done and encourage them to rededicate their lives to him.

“Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands” (7:9).

Only Jesus Christ Can Wash You Clean

Hebrews 9:24-28

For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Jesus Christ has dealt with sin once and for all. That work is finished, and He is at the right hand of the Father in Heaven on our behalf. When we are tempted we must run to Jesus. When we fall for temptation and sin sabotages our lives, we must run to Jesus. If we have been tricked into living days, months, or years in a sinful pattern that constantly damages us and those around us: we must run to Jesus. There is no dealing with sin apart from the work Christ did on the cross. That is the work that has dealt with your sin. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He finished that battle on the cross. Let Jesus become your “more than enough”. Let Him take the throne of your heart and dethrone all idols and pretenders that are hell-bent on getting you to buy their lies. Run to Jesus, He can makes all things new.

Past – Let’s Think On It

Matthew 27:50-54

Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

You read that right, tombs opened and people who were dead came out of their graves upon Jesus’ resurrection. Think about what that must have been like. The fabric of creation seizes as Christ releases His spirit. In this moment, you cannot deny who He is. Five things that virtually never happen, all happen in the same moment. Creation itself is crying out in response to what has taken place. At this moment, the moment where Christ says, “it is finished”, all hell breaks loose. The severe depth of this moment is lost on me. The impact though is timeless and life bringing. Death’s hold on us through sin is forever compromised, shattered by the power of what Jesus has done. Light has broken through the darkness and invites us to come.
