My Father Is…..

John 8:42-47
Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

COMMENTARY

In verses 31-32 Jesus says, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Jesus is addressing Jews who have believed Him, yet knowing their hearts He clarifies that they need to be set free. His audience is having a difficult time understanding why they need to be set free. Jesus responds that everyone who sins is a slave to sin. He confront them more by saying, “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires.” Satan is in the business of twisting truth into lies and these folks are unable to see Jesus as the truth: the only way to God the Father. Holy Spirit, protect us from being unable to hear the truth. Reveal to us any corrupt allegiance that we have to evil, and let the light of Christ illuminate our hearts.

Ears to Hear and Eyes to See

Deuteronomy 4:35-38

You were shown these things so that you might know that the Lord is God; besides him there is no other.  From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire.  Because he loved your ancestors and chose their descendants after them, he brought you out of Egypt by his Presence and his great strength,  to drive out before you nations greater and stronger than you and to bring you into their land to give it to you for your inheritance, as it is today.

COMMENTARY
I believe we too are shown “these things so that you would know that the Lord is God and there is no other”. (NLT) As we read the Bible, story after story is revealed to communicate that we serve a faithful God who loves us and keeps His promises. Today is no different, as we live in a world full of slavery to sin. God is working to free people from the bondage of sin, just like He freed Israel from the clutches of Egypt. He sent Christ Jesus – God the Son – and now we, as His church, continue on as ambassadors for Christ! All have been set free from sin, preach the good news!

Thankfully God Doesn’t Give Up on Us

Jonah 3:1-5
Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time:  “Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.”  Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh. Now Nineveh was a very large city; it took three days to go through it.  Jonah began by going a day’s journey into the city, proclaiming, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.”  The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.
COMMENTARY
Fresh off of a miraculous return after running away from God, Jonah finds himself with another opportunity to follow Him. Not often do we hear stories of people actually listening to the Word of God; here though, we run into a very repentant city – Nineveh. This verse says that “the Ninevites believed God” and proclaim a fast! Up to this moment – the moment when Jonah arrives with the Word from the Lord – this city has been, at best, rebellious against God. Now it’s as if God (or the fear of God) has grasped the heart of every living soul in Nineveh. Welcome to God’s school of mercy.

We Have Hope!

Isaiah 1:18
18 Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. #Bible

Love One Another

Stop, attacking your brothers and sisters in Christ over little differences in your doctrine.  Stand on the truth, the Rock, the Cornerstone.  Know your essentials and do not waver on them, but the rest dear brothers do not fight over.  Worship Jesus Christ,  God Almighty.  There is no other than He who was and He who still is!  If someone cuts their hair and another does not then let them do so, if someone wears pants to church and another only dresses let them do so.  Don’t allow the evil that rips one another to pieces but instead love one another.

1 John 4:20-21
20 If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

Love

1 John 5:3-5
In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
Commentary
God has desired the obedience of His people since the beginning. Instructions were given to Adam and Eve, the stone tablets were made to guide Israel in how to live and served as the foundation for the creation of “the law”. In all this, Jesus comes as the fulfillment of the law. Obedience continues to be commanded, as our direction lies through Christ alone. This is a beautiful verse that links together obedience and the victory to overcome the world through Jesus. In believing in Christ, we become obedient to God and communicate our love for Him.

Do You See What I See? Knowledge is Good

Wars and rumors of wars?
Nation rising against nation?
Kingdom against kingdom?
Famines?
Earthquakes?
Christian persecution and death?
Many turning from the faith and betray and hate each other?
False prophets deceiving many?
Love of most growing cold?
If you are not seeing this or hearing it then you better wake up!
Shocked? We should not be, Jesus also tells us this is only the beginning and not to be alarmed. These things must happen.

Seek Godly Wisdom…
God will give freely for those who ask…

I stumbled on this man Amir Tsafati. This is an hour long and packed with information that just might help you to see what is happening today in our world and how it really does fit into end times and prophecy. You will be blessed.

Exodus 31:3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills-

Deuteronomy 4:6,9
6-observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say,”Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”
9-Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

1 Kings 10:6-9
She said to the king, “The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true.
But I did not believe these things until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told me; in wisdom and wealth you have far exceeded the report I heard. How happy your people must be! Hoe happy your officials, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom! Praise be to The Lord your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on the throne of Israel. Because of the Lords eternal love for Israel, He has made you king to maintain justice and righteousness.”

Proverb 1:2,5,7
For gaining wisdom and instruction; for understanding words of insight;
Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance-
The fear of The Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 2:10-11
For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.

Do you ever…..

Some days it feels like the world around us is so evil.

Some days it feels like we are spiraling out of control.

Some days it seems hope is so far away.

Some days it feels I am the only one believing on my God!

Some days it seems no one sees what is happening around them.

Some days it seems even worse, that no one cares to see what goes on around them.

One day they will.

One day all will see.

One day all will care.

One day it will be too late.

One day every knee will bow,

One day every tongue confess…

Let’s each start today…

One by one overcoming evil with good…

Romans 12:21

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

The Sky…..

I recently moved and I did live one mile from work and now it is 25 miles!
Love driving in every morning so early!  I have missed so much when I was only driving a mile down the road to get to work.  Every morning on my 30 minute drive I have prayer time and worship time.  I admire the beautiful painting in the sky each morning.  I decided that I was going to put my camera in the car and take pictures daily of whatever He has for me that morning.  My camera takes better pictures than my phone.

Yesterday I still did not have my camera in my car so I pulled over and snapped pictures with my phone… I took one yesterday and one today…..my point?

The sky is so big and beautiful and we walk under it every single day.  How do we miss the beauty so much?  Sure there is a day here or there you may notice something but I look forward to the sunrise on my drive every morning!  I cannot wait for what God has to reveal to me!

Yesterday as I took the first picture, it was as if God said to me, “my child, I know you have been thinking about another horrible day at work, another same thing different day but look at the beauty and notice that every day the sky is different.  I paint you a new painting and you look forward to it.   I also make every day and you can choose to look at it as the same day and same thing or you can  see that just as the details in the sky are different EVERY morning so are the days you live.  Every day IS a different day.  Every day is a new day.  Live that day with a new purpose and a new passion.”  Yesterday I responded with tears in my eyes and a simple “yes Lord….and THANK YOU for showing me what is clearly there for all to see.”
