Word is God

1 Thessalonians 2:13
And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.
COMMENTARY
The gospel is the word of God. Jesus Christ is the Word of God. John 1:1-5 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” When the invitation of grace engages us, our ability to choose faith in Christ is preserved. God is not in the business of forcing people to believe in His Word, His one and only Son. It is no small thing when someone chooses faith, and no small tragedy when someone rejects God’s Word. Lord God, thank You for opening the eyes of my heart! Thank You that Your grace does not relent, and my heart is able to say “Yes Lord!”
