Temptations

Are they all bad? Are they all evil? Are they all spotted easily? I would so no. In appearance many are not coming with a neon flashing light saying I am from your enemy! ! On the contrary because if that were true it would be so much easier to turn and run for your life.

1 Corinthians 10:13

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Commentary

As believers, we will be tempted. The idea of temptation relates to how we are attacked or addressed by the world and the forces of evil. A thought, a circumstance, words spoken to you; sometimes it doesn’t take much to cause us to be tempted. Evil strikes at opportunities that make you feel as though you are powerless to defend. God allows you to be tempted that you may hold strongly to Him and show your faithfulness. You are equipped to stand firm which, in some cases, means to flee from temptation. Temptation is not sin, but that is where it leads.

Questions for God?

Are you unsure?  Do you wish to believe but just can’t quite get it?  I was once there. I even though I did get it.  One day I truly had to pour everything I had out before Him and had to truly trust Him beyond all believe.  Why? I was at a place that I literally had no other choice. I already believed but I  suppose I hadn’t trusted Him in a way it takes.  I began to truly learn what worshiping the Lord was. Then I began to fall in love with Him.  At that point I began to realize that I really hadn’t known Him before.  He began to change ME. Life is still imperfect but I have hope that one day it will be perfect with our King of Kings!   I pray that if you don’t know Him like that now that you will cry out to Him.  Soon that time will be gone.  The opportunity will have passed.   Seek Him now.

1 Corinthians 2:6-12
We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.  No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.  None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.  However, as it is written:“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him—  these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.  For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.  What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.
Commentary
All who have accepted Christ have received the Holy Spirit to live within them. It is He (the Holy Spirit) who reveals to us God’s wisdom and “the deep things of God”. (vs. 11 NIV) Today, consider the importance of fellowship and relationship with the Holy Spirit. He is God within us, works to be in relationship with us, and provides understanding about the things of God happening in, around, and through our lives. He was released to dwell within people upon Christ’s return to heaven. He is a vital part of God’s plan for our lives.
