I Need You – I Cannot Trust Even in my Own Heart

Jeremiah 17:9-10
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings
Psalm 33:13-15
The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.  From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.  He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.

COMMENTARY —-Knowing our own hearts isn’t really our strong suit, though we often think that it is. In fact, there are those who take pride in the fact that they know themselves well, some even reject counsel because they conclude that others cannot possibly know them well enough to give sound advice. Apart from God, we cannot possibly know our own hearts well enough to make choices that reflect our faith. Part of the process is learning how to accept that He knows better, will always know better, and to trust Him completely. If we are willing to face that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, our challenge becomes surrender. We are met with forgiveness, and empowered by grace to see our world differently, and cast aside the idols of our heart. Life cannot be more than when Jesus, the Master, is at the helm.

Shhh… Did You Hear?

Even so come…Lord Jesus come!

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul:

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;

Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:

Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Jesus in the Old Testament

Isaiah 61 :1-2

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me;

Because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek;

He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives,

And the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,

And the day of vengeance of our God;

To comfort all that mourn;

Luke 4:16-21

And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

GLOBAL BRAIN

What am I talking about?

NO WORRIES…I WILL BE DEAD.

Not so fast….that was my first thought.  ETA is fully in force by 2030.  Wow…that is way out there.  WRONG AGAIN…It is 13 years….DID YOU READ THAT?  THIRTEEN YEARS!    So, while I cannot fully wrap my mind around it yet, it might be wise if we take a deep breath and review this a little at a time.  First we will begin with what Wikipedia says….

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_brain

So what does all this mean?  Probably way more than I can even imagine.  I will attach one video from Rick Wiles.  He just has his out there now but I first heard John Haller mention it this morning.  I went out and began looking and figured listening to Rick would be cutting to the chase so I am not weeding through all of the video’s out there made by these folks.  (While the year 2030 is thrown out there I also keep thinking about how the UN continues to have their next agenda being due in 2030.  Go figure.  Coincidence right?  I personally do not believe in that.)

PRAY…PRAY…PRAY….

I Cannot Do It!

Psalm 24:3-5
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?  He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.  He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Commentary

It is only because of Jesus that anyone can be seen as having “clean hands and a pure heart”. He is the master key that opens the floodgates of God’s grace and allows the power of God to be perfected in our weakness. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, who ever teaches and instructs our hearts and minds, we are able to live transformed as a new creation. Through faith in Christ Jesus, we can be new creations who are able to stand in His holy place. It is Jesus Christ who justifies and qualifies us before God.

I am so very thankful!

Justice

Luke 18:1-8
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;  Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:  And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.  And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;  Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.  And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.  And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?  I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

COMMENTARY

Today we have a story of a judge who is “unjust”. The end of this parable finds the corrupt judge granting justice to a widow who simply would not stop bothering him. She does not find justice in her situation because the judge’s heart turns around, but because of her persistence. The question on the table is: Do you believe that God will give you justice? This passage promises that God gives justice to “his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night”, and that he will do it quickly. Are you willing to believe that today and live in a way that reflects that you trust God completely with justice? When we are hurt or wronged, and wish to seek retribution – we either take matters into our own hands, or we release matters into God’s. Let Him take the lead on justice, and allow Him to work forgiveness in your heart.

Sifting Wheat

I wonder how many of us -brothers and sisters – ,how many think we are strong enough?  How many of us think we would NEVER deny Jesus Christ?  Peter thought the same thing. We must stay prayed up.  None of us is strong enough left on our own.

Luke 22:31-34
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:  But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.  And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.  And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
